Kinda' stunned... do these still look good to you?
2.1 up and running.... a few kinks but I'd printed my old .cfg so was easy to fix the oddball stuff....
first res under 2.1 belts look REALLY good to me.... vibe seems about the same. (between version, so no ill effects on ops... woohoo)
The ability to just set a Hz and let the machine vibe while you dance around fingering parts to quell noises is FANTASTIC.
....anyway.... thoughts? flames? suggestions? yes.... I prefer my belts a tad on the tighter side (VC500 3.1 with RoS 2.1)...
Solution:
the input request in the loop (to continue the loop or not) is the 'pulse' I'm hearing as you describe. And yes, I do not see it effecting the graph/responses from the printer in the graph. You confirmed my query.... it's not an issue., was simply an observation on my part. tnx
vcore 4 500 belt issues....at a loss
I've tuned and adjusted this like 50 time over the last week and I'm struggle on how to get the graph to look better. I have an extra peak in the lower belt. Are the belts supposed to slap against the frame at certain frequencies? Or do I need to tighten more?
Belt Tension Alignment
Having trouble getting my second peak to align in the belt tension graphs on my V Core 3.1 400, both belts tensioned to 70Hz and the first peak lines up perfectly, but the second won't. Doesn't seem like the belts are rubbing anywhere that I can tell, and the gantry is aligned in the front according to the assembly manual
Unenclosed vcore3.1 500mm issues
I've tightened every single bolt and grub screw, checked square as best I can but having trouble nailing down where the vibrations are coming from. Any ideas on what to check?
VC4 300 frequency response
I know from the docs that this graph indicates binding somewhere but I can't for the life of me figure out where. The only thing I can think of is that my belts are overall too tight? Any suggestions on things to check and walk through. The gantry appears to have free range of movement on both X and Y without any noticeable issue (other than normal disengaged/powered off stepper drag), the belts don't move up or down on any of the idlers or pulleys. I'm just at a loss and being too tight is...
Solution:
nice you got what ever that was binding unbinded.. Your upper belt is tigher. Do you think you could loosen it by one tooth and get it back to the same tension? Otherwise its clean enough to run with if you want
Help with the resonance on x
Standart vcore 3.1. Had the FMMM mod installed some time ago. This is my result. I have tightened everything down, belts are kinda straight. But my X axis is just wild. I had much better results when i just assembled the printer. It was ideal. Now its a mess. Y is okay, but still there is a second big hump and i could not identify. Oh, and previously X axis had only 1 hump at 74 ish hz. There was no vibration on 125
Shaper graphs have different peaks for Y and Z
I just reworked my whole X-axis on my V-Core-3.1, 400mm. Based on the belt graphs, I think the tension is about right-- both peaks are close in magnitude on 55 Hz (can I tell if they are tight enough from the frequency? or only if they are equally tight?)
For input shaping, the Y-graph weirds me out a little bit. The Y and Z have different peaks, and Z is actually quite a bit taller than the Y vibration. As I type this out, I realize that must mean the whole tool-head has rotational vibration around X axis as it vibrates at 43 Hz? I presume that is not normal? If it's fine, which frequency should I use for input shaper?
If it matters, I'm using the toro3d tube and rail that I won in a Discord raffle forever ago. It is 340g lighter than using regular rail w/ 2020 aluminum....
VC4 300 Enclosed - Belt tension gantry alignment
I'm trying to do the belt turning but having some issues, hope someone can give some pointers.
When I try to align the two peaks the gantry goes out of alignment.
Is it because the upper belt is longer then the lower belt?...
Potential lower belt issue - any advice what to check?
Working on my V-core 4 300mm build, CoreXY. I've been working on getting the belts properly set up and tensioned. This is my current graph. They are matching okay but I have that extra peak on the lower belt. Any tips on what to look at?
Equal tension but low amplitude
I have a question concerning belt tension this graph is pretty good imo (it's not that anymore). So it's matched but low amplitude, but as soon I turn it up my lower belt start fading (overtension). What could explain being so low on amplitude yet being on the verge of overtension. Will try to get back to a graph similar.
It's getting mind boggling because before redoing the loom and the wires in the box I printed and I was higher in amplitude...
are the shaper graphs fine ? V-Core 3.1 300m with RR Toolhead Beta 2
Hi everybody,
for the belt tension graph, i'm not sure how can I align the lines of the first spike, as like the second graph ? Could somebody help me there or would this be fine ?
For the frequency response and shapers for the x axies, i would have a question. Why is the ZV shaper recommended instead of the MZV as the ZV is showing a vibr=0.7%, while the ZV as a value of 0.0%

shaper graph low y acceleration V Core 500
Just wanting tips on how to improve my y acceleration wondering it is a vibration issues as I was unwilling to cut most of the wires short to path them as in the v core 500 documents.
VC4 300 unenclosed (just back panel)
Have had some issues trying to get the printer to have a semi decent graph on the resonance test. Keep having issues with unsynced resonance and split tips.
Ive leveled the gantry a few times and made sure that the y rails are decently in the middle of the extrusions...
VC4 500mm Hybrid Belt Tensioning Trouble Shooting
Having some trouble getting a good clean input shaper now with the Hybrid Y installed. I'll start from the beginning:
First three photos are belt tension and the X and Y Axis input shaper. All three look good. CoreXY Y Axis MZV is 3,400.
Fourth photo shows the initial hybrid setup giving me two peaks. At this point, I was getting lots of 2 and 3 hump EI recommendations (not great)....
vc3.1 new toolhead
been running the EVA perfectly fine for a while now, just switch to the RRTH (or at least my modified version of it) and I can not fix a resonance graph in the same way or with the same ease as I used to.
first run didn't seem too bad, decided that the lower belt needed to be tensioned more but I had run out of movement on my tensioner so I had to pop off the grabber and trim down a few teeth and now it is even worse.
I'm gonna walk away from the machine for the rest of the day so any input (heh) I can act on when I get back would be super helpful....
VC3.1 400, belt resonance chaos
Checked my resonances after updating to RatOS 2.1 and found out that they have degraded massively for some reason. Haven't changed anything mechanically in a while so I dont know what is causing this. Prints turn out normal but im sure its messing up my shaper because shit hits the fan when i go max speed.
If anybody has leads on what i should check, please tell
update: I tried tightening all of the bearing stacks, it changed nothing. I can also see that all bearings are rolling nicely, no binding, but i cant see the bearings buried back in the motor cages...
Can't get good graphs on VC4 400
This is 24th graph I did today. After 3 hours I still can't get the belts to align. It doesn't make any sense. When I loose the upper belt it doesn't get closer to the lower belt. Either the second smaller peak dissapears or nothing changes. I tried realigning Y rails, the X gantry. Measured distances between various points to check for obvious frame issues.
Solution:
Getting there finally! I unbolted everything I could and tried to alignt and bolted again. This is the latest:
VC4 400: Second peak not appearing
Hey, first time tuning belts on a coreXY. Not sure why the second peak is not appearing. @miklschmidt suggested before that my belt tension is too high, but I matched both belts on the one peak I have and reached low end of 1e6. Is it still too high, or can there be another explanation for this issue? There might be some noise due to the fact I didn't finish cable management on the toolhead yet, but I reckon it doesn't influence the general look of the graph. Thanks!
