TMC 'extruder' reports error: GSTAT: 00000001 reset=1(Reset)
Hi all,
I have recently been hit with a spate of GStat errors on my T0 extruder (IDEX VCore4 400mm). I have searched far and wide for a solution, with my attempted fixes including;
- Swapper extruder motors between T0 and T1
- New extruder motor on T0
- Filament sensor swapped between T0 and T1
- Recrimped wire for the motor and filament sensor
- Disabled filament sensor in printer.cfg (commented out) & unplugged from T0 toolhead board
- Attempted with different filaments and when filament sensor was disconnected, attempted with no filament.
All with no success. I have noticed that the extruders have been very hot during a print recently, but swapping to a new extruder motor and immediately getting the error suggests my issue is not based in the motor. Likewise for the filament sensor.
I'm getting OTP flags on my Z1 and Z2 motors, but these have never caused the print to halt, and my queries on how to fix this issue have gone unanswered. If the driver were overheating though I would have thought I'd see a similar error for extruder.
Any suggestions on what else to try? I am running out of ideas. One post I've seen suggests that it is static that builds up on the motor due to poor grounding, but I have no idea how to correct this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Advice sought; Trying to tune TMC2209
HI all,
I think I am severely confused here and hoping that the answer is simple. I have been getting OTP flags on Z1 and Z2, and after a Gstat on Extruder 0, I thought I had best check the VRef of the drivers. This is where I think I am getting confused and if someone could help, I'd be greatly appreciative. Machine info is VCore4 - 400mm
When I pull a driver out and hook it up to a 5 or 12V source, I get no signal on my multimeter when probing the VRef and Gnd pin. This is the same on two of the drivers, I thought it best to stop there and ask.
Now, with a bit more reading, is it true that because on the VCore4 the drivers are operated in UART mode that the VRef set on the potentiometer is overridden by a motor current set in RatOS? This would then make the manual tuning irrelevant??

Stepper driver warning: OTPW flag set
Hi All,
I have been getting this warning for stepper_z1 and stepper_z2 pop up anytime I activate my Z-motors.
"Stepper driver warning: OTPW flag set
The stepper driver 'stepper_z1' has triggered the OTPW flag and may stop working if it gets any hotter. This is an indication of an over temperature condition. This can be caused by a too high current. Please check the stepper driver settings and cooling."
Any thoughts on how to fix? I don't know how to change the current of the steppers.

I am still in the commissioning stage of the build, so haven't printed anything yet, but am concerned for when I do start printing. When I first installed RatOS 2.0.1 I did not get this error. I have since updated to RatOS v2.1.0, and have everything up to date. I thought it might be because originally I had to remove the electronics enclosure panel so I could hook my pi into ethernet, and thus reduced the cooling of the stepper drivers, but have since routed the ethernet cable inside the printer and still getting the errors with the panel on.
Any thoughts on how to fix? I don't know how to change the current of the steppers.

Adding an extra NIDEC Fan
Hi All,
Having a bit of trouble configuring a new fan on my 400mm VCORE4 IDEX machine. I want to add a PWM fan to the enclosure wall so I can create negative pressure within the enclosure and vent the fumes out of the house. I did some math (may be incorrect) and want to try the NIDEC fan used for the parts fans as apparently, I only need to run it at 20% during printing to create negative pressure then run it at 100% for a few minutes after the print to completely vent the chamber. I don't know if this will work, not the subject of the post, but wanted to give background.
My question is; how can I add another 12V PWM fan to the printer? I seem to get a PWM signal when I plug in to the 12V power for the existing part fans, but I can't find another 12V source to plug in to on the board, and trying to wire it like in the RatOS guide by pulling 12V +ve from a fan plug and putting the negative wire into HE1 -ve only provides 10V and the fan won't turn on. Any suggestions to put me out of my misery?

IDEX Part cooling fan not responsive
Hi all, just wondering if I have missed any potential troubleshooting points. The NIDEX fan for my T1 will not power up when the machine is activated. I take this as it is not getting any voltage and the problem exists (at this point) with the red and black connectors. Have checked the octopus with a multimeter and it is outputting 12V on the plug per the build guide. The cable is also outputting 12V to the connector but then I can't think of anything to check what the fan is recieving. I have tried to press the connectors together tighter in the barrels but no dice. I've checked the wires are connected correctly (red to red and black to black) and that isn't my issue. Starting to think the fan is dead, but like I said, just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions.
