Brown ABS turning paler in corners and edges of holes
Never saw this before. I have dark brown ABS and it seems in areas where pressure advance is applied (corners and edges) the color gets a shade lighter. Is it bad filament?
How to address pillowing?
Hello everyone,
I am currently trying to print a large part with a very low infill (3%) and I am getting (what I suspect) is an extreme case of pillowing.
The top surface could actually be due to bridging (the bridges look fine, but the might just sag enough to cause something like that).

weird extrusion artefacts.
Im not sure what this artifact is from.... i looks to be vibration generated but then again its not in the same spots as the ghosting and is pretty random on the straights.
My belts are binding somewhere (waiting for FMMM) so im wondering if thats the issue. libra mini and rapido uhf....
Getting FDC to work cant install scipy
so has anyone managed to get FDC to run..? whilst running = python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python3 generate_FDC_meshes_z_heights.py json_file 0.1 --filter_noise , Im getting errors such as ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'scipy' . I did the git clone, and it runs, building the mesh with temp .. any help would be appreciated....
Not sure what is causing this.....
Hi everyone. Swapped my slicer to Orca Slicer after some issues with Super Slicer in regards to infill seemingly badly under-extruded.
Was running some test prints after calibrations etc and almost done, but my Benchy seems a bit strange on one side with some strange artefacts on it. Subsequent prints replicate it as well, so there is something that I have yet to optimise on it.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated...
zone side slanted the other squished.
I get this regardless of speed and acceleration. Also pressure advance is set to 0.
Possible under-extrusion on infill
Hi everyone. Started a larger print tonight (V-Core 3 400), and noticed that the infill was a bit whispy and little parts were sticking up about the place. Looking closer and the infill seems to look under-extruded. Doing Cubic infill at 15%.
Just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue at all. The solid layers are all fine and I have run through the calibration which all seemed very good. Benchy and Voron Cube came out as exected when setting up.
Thanks in advance....
PS Modifier Fuzzy Skin
Hi guys,
I have a little issue with the fuzzy skin in Prusaslicer - see attached photos.
I have generally fuzzy skin on the part and added a modifier where I don't want fuzzy skin. The issue now is that the modifier creates an additional perimeter and builds up thickness which I don't want. I actually want the printer to stop doing XY movements on that excluded fuzzy skin section ...

MH Build Series PLA Has Horrible Stringing
This is more of a "tuning filament" question I suppose. I typically print with PETG and have little to no issues with it stringing. I wanted to have some PLA around and I bought some MatterHacker Build Series.
It prints absolutely stunningly on smooth faces but any time there are gaps or jumps it strings to the point that it's basically unusable.
The retraction tower shown was printed at 200C and is 15mm tall at 0.1mm retract steps (so ranged from 0mm to 1.5mm retraction). At this point I can only assume it's temperature? But the 190C print wouldn't even stick to the bed. Any thoughts or suggestions for reigning in this filament is appreciated....
weird rough surface
Hi
What can be the cause of this surface? I'm guessing that it can be too little amount of infill.

Help tuning print settings.
Spectrum 275 ASA. 260 nozzle and 60 bed. Getting a lot of pinhole. Layers don't look very uniforme. Some weirdness on the bow.
wobble in walls and sinking top surface
Not sure that is going on here, I've reduced print speed and re tensioned the belts of my vcore3 and this is the best I can get it, it's also meant to be 20mm diameter
Troubleshooting benchy (heat issues)
Other benchy details are fine with the .3 layer height yet, the chimney doesn't deform due to heat, pla is set to 205.
This is a print test after swapping back to my .4 nozzle from a .6 nozzle.
Any help is appreciated...
Bad bed leveling
Hey y'all. I have a reasonably flat bed however my bed leveling doesn't seem to be working as I'd expect. All my probe settings are stock except my X/Y offset which is on the back right of the print head. Probe repeatability reads 5 micron and the printer definitely compensates some amount but clearly not enough. Is there something I'm missing here?
stuck lower belt?
While attempting to use Ellis' max speed tuning macro here:
https://ellis3dp.com/Print-Tuning-Guide/articles/determining_max_speeds_accels.html
at an acceleration of 27500 the lower belt jammed and I had to do an emergency stop. I was only able to resolve the jam by powering off the printer and moving the belt, gantry and print head by hand until it came loose again. I'm really uncertain what caused this situation and am hoping someone can explain what I did wrong before I resume tuning.
The belt was extremely tight but not completely unmovable. I looked at all the idler pulleys that I could see around the printer and didn't notice the belt being off any of them. The only thing I can figure is that maybe somehow something happened to the servo that resulted in it not turning freely for a while. Any thoughts on what I did and how to make sure I don't do it again? (other than running at ender 3 speeds 🙂 )...
2Prints dont Fit together
So im Printing two base plates they are litreally the same size in the cad software and slicer. Every hole aligns with each other, but Printed they dont fit only the top four holes align with each other. The lower plate does not fit with the topplate. If i flip the lower plate 180degrees then the holes fit. I dont know if im giong mad because ive been awake for 24hours but what is going on ?

I have a nasty gap in Z seam.

Overextrusion at my seams. Motion seems to pause.
I'm working on printing nylon. So I have my speeds dialed down to 60mm/s for the most part. However, it seems like the motion pauses at layer change or retraction and ends up causing a bit of overextrusion. Where is the parameter in Prusaslicer that drives this speed? I've been digging and can't seem to puzzle out which knob needs to turn. 😕
The ripples! Wavy/rippled surface.
Please save me, I am struggling to figure out what this is. The ripples !
I get them when printing slow or fast.
I tried loosening belts and tightening.
