Consistent gaps between walls with proper EM and PA on VC4-400 hybrid.
I consistently encounter gaps between my walls. I've attached photos of the issue, along with a photo of the Pressure Advance (PA) pattern test where the value I use is circled. Flow and PA are tuned, and I'm printing with Polymaker ASA at 260°C, with the max flow set to 34 mm³/s. I'm using a solid TC 0.5mm nozzle with associated layer widths, and slicing with OrcaSlicer. The first layer and outer walls look good, and while the top layer is slightly over-extruded, it's still acceptable. I know I...
terrible embossed lettering
Looking for advice on how to improve the clarity of the embossed numbers. I've seen these turn out beautifully on prints from other printers, but not sure what settings to tune/adjust.
Zig-zag rippling on print
Never seen anything like this before. Weird zig-zag texturing. Causes rippling up vertical edges.
Input shaping is off by the way (tested it with and without)....
Solution:
It appears to have been a bad nozzle
Ripple in Pressure Advance Tower
So I have been tyring to tune my pressure advance, but all of the corners look bad. They have this odd ripple like affect that you can see in the pictures below. Any idea what could cause this and how to fix it?
how to fix over extrusion.
I have recently switch to the ratrig print head with the rapido 2 uhf hotend. now my prints are extremely over extruded. I have tried reducing my "rotation_distance: " user override section but doesn't help.
And here we go again... first layer problem even with beacon3D
Hello guys!
Recently i have purchased a Beacon 3d, went through all setup and calibration steps. Beacon latency check had a score of 3, all parameters during calibration were more then fine.
Here is my heightmap scale: 0.036 to -0.030
Nevertheless, even after fine tuning of Z, i am receiving the following results, where one side of test print is ok, and other has ripples. ...
Ratcube Ringing on Vcore4 hybrid
I must not have my belt settings correct as I have some pretty bad ringing on the Y axis, some noticable ringing on X axis as well. Any tips on where to start? Tightening my belts?
weird artifacts on gayer-anderson cat
Ignoring the fact that one leg fell off (probably just need a brim), I'm seeing these weird artifacts on the skin of my first print attempt. I've never seen this before and am hopeful someone can tell me how to avoid it for my next attempt at printing it.
Solution:
My initial surmise is that it was printing too fast. I'd done a max vol speed cal in orca and applied those limits to the filament, but unless I'm missing something, orca doesn't let you set a maximum linear speed for filaments like other slicers do. So when I looked at the print speed and saw that it was much, much higher than it should have been....
Well, I'm going to crank all the speeds down and add a brim and try again....
vcore 3.1 PACF woes
Seem to not be able to get this PACF to print nicely. I've used this same filament in my k1 just fine.
VC3.1 with a rapido 2f, 0.6 tungsten nozzle.
I've tried temps from 250-300C, seems to be better on the lower end. The walls print fine, though there's some blobs likely due to ooze with the UHF adapter and 0.6 nozzle. I don't mind those as much as the apparent over extrusion on top and bottom layers. I've got the extruder (orbiter2) rotation distance calibrated, and flow rate is 1.0/100% in orca....
First layer issues after Ratrig Toolhead upgrade
So, I splurged and bought a new Ratrig Toolhead with all the bits & bobs. Rapido UHF, Orbiter 2, even got myself a beacon. Everything installed and homed in - and that is when the trouble starts.
For the love of me I cannot get a decent first layer. The blob-tower nozzle wipe works fine, but already when printing the edge of a first layer it goes to pieces. The rim looks under extruded, and the nozzle starts to roll up the PLA. I'm lost - any advice would be greatly appreciated....
Filament breaks during bridging
I seem to have messed up something and keep running into this issue. Basically filament breaks during the bridging part. Too much cooling?
V-Minion - Consistent perimeter print errors (Single wider layer + void)
Hey everyone!
My V-Minion has been great, I'm super happy with it, but it's still in a fine-tuning phase to get to its full potential. Most of the things I've printed come out great, but for some reason, this part (and variations on it) have two consistent print issues on every print, and I can't seem to be able to get fully rid of them.
I have attached a photo showing both, and I'll provide some more photos from different prints below....
1'st layer issue
I left the printer for a while it was printer good, update rat os and klipper, prisa slicer, and now i have this ugly 1'st layer, i ofc calibrated my fillamnet before and i tried another fil, but still get same, i have the lgx lite n rapido setting in my cfg, yet prusa has vc3 or v6 whatever in depandencies, could that be the problem, or what could it be ? I ofc tried toggling Z hight live but doesnt seem to work, i do the heat soak for 40+ min, and i get this now, anyone might know how to fix i...
Strange Texture
New VC4 ASA I tuned Flow, Max Flow, and PA. This seems like extrusion issue?
Solution:
The black Nozzle in the VC4 kit is a 0.6 Nozzle. It is very easy to forget to change it when setting up the printer. If you do your prints will look like this☝️
PA-15CF - Printer has been calibrated, yet I keep getting these imperfections.
Seems like overextrusion, however my flow seems to be spot on. First layer is good. Last layer is good. I used all the Orca Slicer calibrations until I was content with the result. What could I be missing?
Vcore 4 Bad first layer
I dont know why but this is what my first layer looks (ABS). When I'm doing smaller print it goes fine as soon i go for a big one it start doing ribbons and having that ugly look
First layer squeeze
Printing pla and my first layer is always too squished wouldn't the beacon take care of that ? Also the part that looks good is where I baby stepped the Z offset. But on one end line are good and fused together on the other one it's separated
Can't dial in retraction
Hi all!
So I have been trying to get Nylon-CF15 dialed in. Nylon is new, from well sealed package. In a drybox (electric) since I opened it and been there for 2 days now. I have been working on calibrating everything using Orca's tests. Usually they work fine for me with other filaments. But this one, I can't solve it. I have tried from 0mm to 5mm. I have increased and decreased speeds. I tried decreasing the flow in case it was overextrusion. I have changed the seam settings in case I had an issue there. Yet whatever I do, I keep getting these artifacts. Not exactly wispy lines, but more like residue.
Any ideas?...
