Lost communication with MCU 'toolboard_t0'

I'm running VC4 500 with a Orbitool board. Everything else is pretty much stock other than a 24v fan to the toolboard instead of the 4 wire fan back to the MB. I've tried multiple toolboards, USB pcbs, and cables. (I ordered 3, so I had 1 for IDEX and a spare) It seems to work fine for 4 or 5 prints, then I get 3ish hours into a print and it shuts down due to "Lost communication with MCU 'toolboard_t0'" Then it does it every time I try to print something until I switch out the board or cable. Then it will work fine for 4 or 5 prints. I'm really stumped on this. All the connectors are stock, I didn't crimp anything. I've switched out previously removed boards and cables, and it will still print 4 or 5 prints without issue.

Problem/Errors: Commissioning Guide | Step 2 - Build plate prep.

Hi Folks, pretty new to Klipper based 3D Printing, build my V-Core 4 300mm and now i trying to follow all the Steps from the Commissioning Guide. I always get Errors when trying to use the Command "BEACON_RATOS_CALIBRATE", i just can't get past it. Wanted to askif somebody has a clue what i can try to solve it, for info i tried with RC2 and upgraded to RC3, made no changes to any config at this moment....

BLtouch deploying but not triggering

Hi, i tried to verify the BLtouch as required in the initial config. The wiring should be correct for the Octopus 1.1: Brown-Red-Yellow-Black-White I buzzed them trough and they all have connection, the connector is the wrong type (JST-XH instead of Futaba servo connectors), because i thought it would go on the connector directly to its side. But the BTT product wiki page shows that the free standing pins are the correct position. ...

Vcore 3.1 500mm Clogs constantly Revo Voron.

I switched a couple of months ago to a revo voron because I really did not like the rapido. I changed the volumetric max rate to 13 in orcaslicer. and it printed fine no clogs or whatever. But now it clogs or maybe its still cloged. I tried cleaning it I removed some gunk. dissambled the hotend. checked bowden tupe inside the eva . everything is clear. I checked the rotation distance. I print fairly slow. i added my speed settings ....

Temperature issues V-Core 3

I'm having temperature issues that turn the printer off. During startup the nozzle temperature tends to turn the system off as it's exhibiting over +330 C. Has anyone encountered this?

[Exclude Object] Randomly Stopped

I finally got around to upgrading to RatOS 2.1. I already put a few prints in and used Exclude Objects just fine. However, the option is no longer there. I have no idea what changed. I noticed in the moonraker file that’s read only that it’s set to false, but I have true in my overrides. I even tried putting the file manager section in the moonraker .cfg in the root directory with no luck. ...

At the end of my sanity; hopefully someone has the golden tip

First some background. I have a vCore 3 that was upgraded with the vCore 3.1 kit and later the RR Toolhead and a beacon. The printer has printed well for the longest of times untill I had a massive clog on the old EVA toolhead that broke my Pheatus Rapido. I decided to "splurge" and get the new toolhead, complete with a new hotend, extruder and the beacon probe. This is where the issues began for me. For the life of me, I cannot get a consistent first layer. I let the beacon do it's thing, make sure the nozzle is clean, and use a piece of paper to check if the Z=0 is actually spot on - which it is....

Debris in heatbreak, wonky rapido thermistor?

I recently switched from a rapido 1/lgx lite/ratos 2.0 configuration to a rapido 2+ UHF/orbitor 2/ratos 2.1 configuration. I am frequently (effectively every time) getting debris between the heat break and the extruder after a filament unload. Mikl made a change to the 2.1 code base to potentially remedy this but at the moment I'm still hosed. There is an accumulation above the heat break that is preventing me from loading filament. I've tried cleaning it out with metal rods and with filament without success in either case. Any suggestions as to how I might clean this out? ...

Solution:

Heat up the nozzle, remove it, then heat up the steel rod to high temp (gas stove) and try pushing it through, don't let it sit too long it may affect your PTFE tube. If that doesn't work I'll let you know a more complicated version. If it works I would f investigate the length of your PTFE tube, maybe a little short, and make sure the nozzle is tight.

new build did all my pre checks etc, are good doing final beacon cal it goes crazy

so new custom build ratos 2.1, beacon, stealthburner, octopus 1.1, pi4, all pre flight checks work great printer moves where i tell it to, right left back front up down and home. beacon pre test works fine, i go and do beacon final test and its starts ok and then moves to level bed and then its suppose to go back to center of bed and do its thing but it shoots to front right corner makes a nasty sound when it moves there. not sure why it keeps moving to that corner, what should i look at and ch...

Klipper reports: ERROR

After assembling V-Core 4 500 and configuring electronics using this guide https://os.ratrig.com/docs/installation/ (linked from https://ratrig.dozuki.com/Guide/12.+Electronics/250?lang=en), which went ok (with flashing everything), I try to follow the Commissioning guide (https://docs.ratrig.com/commissioning-guides/v-core-4). So, powered the printer for the very first time, wait couple of minutes, opened the http://ratos.local and got the below 2 errors in Dashboard. All is up-to-date in Update Manager. I'm not very experienced, any idea please? This was shown one during startup: Klipper reports: SHUTDOWN...

Solution:

So, after some days wait, I've received a new replacement Toolboard EBB42 v1.2 from RatRig (thanks a lot!). After replacing, and lot of playing with setup, updates, etc. I finally managed to make it working and the temperature was shown correctly after startup. Somehow I was also missing the Toolboard configuration (not in the instructions, I followed?), and the need to tell where the X/Y stops are connected, etc. After setting all that correctly, it finally all worked from HW and electronics point of view. Now I try to calibrate the Heightmap, I'm getting quite bad values, like 0.341 range, the front side is up by 0.08 and the back left corner is down by 0.26....

Rat Rig V Core 3 - Duet Board - RepRap Firmware

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone can help me - I'm trying to commission my Duet3 Mini 5 ethernet board; however, I've noticed that Rat Rig does seem to have any links to download any Duet config specific files for this. It seems as though Rat Rig no longer support the Duet Board and instead now prefer other boards (e.g. Octopus, etc.) with the RatOS, rather than Duet RepRap firmware. Should I change my board and get a raspberry Pi?...

bed wiring instructions for vc4

Hi, the build guide and the commissioning guide for the vcore 4 is missing the bed heater wiring instructions, it only includes where to plug in the thermistor but not the heater leads. Can you please provide me with those instructions and diagram. The linked instructions in step two of the bed wiring in the commissioning guide do NOT have the bed wiring instructions...

Solution:

One wire goes to ac neutral, the other goes to the unused terminal of the ssd. Polarity doesn't matter as it's a dumb resistive element. Use the zip tie slots in the rear bed arm to hold it steady...

ebb36 1.2 heater always on

My printer was disassembled for a long time. On reassembly I note that on poweron the hotend heater activates. By the time the pi has booted klipper shurs everythinf down at a hotend temperature of about 340C. The smoke suggests that is a real temperature too. It used not do this. Any ideas?...

Timer too close on V-Core 3.0 500 with Klipper

I've replaced my Duet board with an Octopus 1.1 and EBB36, plus RatOS, and now in the testing stage. Whenever I run the STEPPER_BUZZ commands, it triggers a timer too close error. I'm running a Pi4, originally powered by a 3A DC-DC converter off the printer PSU, but even with an official external 3A Pi supply it occurs every time. Not sure what to check, klippy logs attached in the hope they are some help....

I have done a few things, so I'm not sure what has helped, and I won't count my chickens until they hatch, but I reformatted the octopus SD card to be blank FAT, reimaged the Pi SD card with the 2.1.0-RC2 image, made sure I updated everything in update manager before going further, began the whole setup again reflashing both the octopus board and EBB36 without any version mismatch warnings this time (it's interesting klipper version seems older in RC2 to what I had?), and so far I can move all t...

Temperature Wait issue

After I finish printing at 220C and i want to print again, the web interface waits for the hotend to cool down to 150C before it heats it up again to target temp of 220C. Seems like a waste of time for it to cool to 150 just to heat it back up again. How do i tell rat os to skip waiting for 150C and just go ahead an heat it back to 220?
