Bed adhesion and warping issues
Whilst my V-Core 3.1 400 has had many issues so far (mostly motor mount/belt related) I have achieved many successful prints - although now I have a new one. I'm trying to print some benchys but nothing is staying on the plate. It sticks initially, but then about 10 mins (or 1cm Z) into the print, it warps so far that it loses adhesion and completely detaches. I've tried this print probably 7 or 8 times now, with varied materials and settings. Any help would be appreciated - thank you!
Things I have tried:
- PLA, PETG, ABS
- added 4mm brim...
Layer shifts and ugly surfaces
I haven't had a clean print since I finished my v-core 3 and I'm not sure what's causing it at this point. I've tightened and checked belts around the pullies, slowed it down to 80mm/s and switched slicers but I'm still getting layer shifts.
The first benchy had the biggest one, the second had less of a shift but more ugly surfaces, and the last two benchys I stopped. after the first few layers cuz they were already showing signs of shifting.
If it matters, running an LGX Lite with a Dragon HF....
Layer shifts on longer prints
I'm guessing this is probably something to do with either supports of stringing, but would be nice to hear other opinions on possible solutions of the issue.
It's running :
Rat Rig V-core 3 500mm
80mm/s print speed. ...
Why is my infill looking so shit?
I'm printing with 120mm/s, I already reduced the infill speed to my perimeter speed (was faster originally), but it's still a complete mess. The perimeters (printed at the same speed ) look fine
Blobbing issue after a few layers for a few layers
Hello,
I am having blobbing issue after a few layers for a few layers and I am not sure what is causing it
There are 6 perimeters and it only happens for some models
All these prints except for the vase mode have the same print parameters (60 bed, 200he) and it's amazonbasics satin PLA...
warping with petg
Randomly in the last few days I have been getting warping with petg on my minion, I’m using standard configs with Prusa slicer and the room doesn’t have any cold air coming through. No idea why this is now happening
Extruder stops several layers in
Hello everyone. I had recently done several big prints with my new printer.. as of recent, I am trying to print a box square for calibration and the print is ruined after several layers due to PLA material no longer extruding.. I can't figure out why.. My assumptions are that the cube layers are quick and extruder can't keep up? I just don't know where to start with troubleshooting this issue.. using superslicer.. any advise would be appreciated.
Inconsistent squish across bed
If you take a look at the video, you can see that at (0,0) I am getting pretty good (maybe even too good) squish on my skirt/prime line, but on the other side of the bed (460,0) the skirt is now 2 distinct lines (measuring 0.31mm each) that have poor bed adhesion. Am I wrong that a correctly calculated bed mesh is the only answer to this? I dont have thumbwheels to adjust bed height on this VC3 like I do my Ender 3. I am printing PETG at 250 deg with an 85 deg bed temp per manufacturers advise. If I print more than a handful of layers, things go to hell pretty quickly.
This entire VC3 project has not been as productive or satisfying as I had hoped. I am not sure if there is a fundamental alignment flaw at the core of my printer or something else is going on. Maybe my slicer settings just suck. I am happy I was able to assemble this to a point where it actually spews filament to bed, but this last 10% of getting something that prints accurately and reliably is starting to make me want a Bamboo or Prusa. I need a clinic. I dont even want fast prints, slow and reliable is fine....
Brim is not consistent
Hi, since ASA needs more adhesion, I print it with 10mm brim. The problem is that about half of it looks ok, but then the half which is closer to the part is basically individual strings
Messed up infill.
for some reason my infill is looks like its not extruding fast enough, but every other feature is printing just fine. the infill is even printing a bit slower than the perimeters and the solid infill (170mm/s vs 180 & 200mm/s)
any idea why this happens?...
V-minion Z wobble
This problem seems recent but I'm confident it's a wobble artifacts on my v minion. It's hard to tell but on the corners I measure the ripple and it's a consistent 2 mm which I believe it's the 2mm pitch of the lead screw.
Anyone else who's had.this problem can recommend a potential fix I would greatly appreciate it

Printer goes to insane speeds and then starts skipping
So this is my SuperSlicer speed settings for ASA. Also attached, the offending layer. According to SuperSlicer, it is the "Top Solid Infill". At least when I toggle it, the layer lines do disappear. I think my settings are right and that it is set to 50mm/s. Anyway... the print goes fine till this layer. Then all of a sudden, it speeds up, like a lot. I think the hotend can't keep up and the extruder starts to skip to the point where the filament just jams. The problem is, I can't figure out why...
Visible lines around holes
hi guys how can I eliminate those lines around the holes? I'm using monotonic top infill with PETG. EM and PA are correctly setted.
Printer really loud
Hello, I am facing a really strange thing with my VCore 3.1…
Its making a lot of disturbing sound especially in lower speeds (first 2layers).
And most of the times If I speed up my print to 150% speed factor the noice is getting bette.
I did try more belt tension or lower belt tension but it didn’t help… anyway I am not sure that my tension is actually correct and I couldn’t find any clear info on this…

UHF profiles
Hi all, I just build my ratrig vcore 3.1 before 2-3 weeks ago and I am still using my printer with the provided HF profiles with the 0.4 nozzle.
I would like you to please share with me any profiles if possible.
My hotend is the rapido UHF with bondtech extruder.
Also, how much it will affect the print quality with the 0.6 nozzle?

Calibration cube quality
I've been struggling for over a week trying to tune my V Minion. Followed Ellis tuning guide as well. I'm stuck on what to do next. Any tips?
Lines on the top
Hi! How can I remove the lines on the black top level? I turned on retraction and “avoid crossing perimeters”. I printed with PETG, 150 speed, 0.075 pa (measured with lines test), 0.93 em (measured with cube test), 230 Celsius of temperature. I’m pretty happy with the print quality at all, but I would like to eliminate that lines on top…suggestions?
Unstable extrusion when a new perimeter starts after unretraction
This is only a cosmetic problem and does not really affect the quality of the parts.
There are no significant underextrusions or overextrusions which would affect the structural integrity of the parts. However, I would like to get a better surface finish for my decorative prints.
The problem:
The external perimeter line starting from the seam has a slightly higher/lower width, which makes a visually unpleasant line. This happens only if the perimeter line started from unretraction....
