Extruder stops several layers in

Hello everyone. I had recently done several big prints with my new printer.. as of recent, I am trying to print a box square for calibration and the print is ruined after several layers due to PLA material no longer extruding.. I can't figure out why.. My assumptions are that the cube layers are quick and extruder can't keep up? I just don't know where to start with troubleshooting this issue.. using superslicer.. any advise would be appreciated.

In the gcode preview you can switch the view to volumetric flow and see what your max flow is you can also go into your filament tab and on the filament section at the bottom is a "max volumetric flow" setting that you can use to set a cap on your flow rate you may also just need to raise the temps to extrude faster

Thanks 8Complex. I'll look into this.. currently trying to print PLA, 220C, bed 65.. When the extrusion stops feeding, I notice the last layer as bits and pieces of PLA.. I don't even think the extruder is even trying to move the filament after a while.. I also have my extraction set to 2mm.. maybe too high..

Retraction sounds high if you're using EVA... I have run into issues retracting too much and causing a clog, but you'd know if you were clogged since you'd have to unclog it before the next print I think my retraction has always been set to around 0.75mm As another question, have you ever been able to print higher than a few layers? If no, it is possible something else is wrong...

Yup, a couple of days ago I printed an awesome spool holder! :).. today I can't print squat! 😦 I've changed my retraction setting and did a extruder rotation check.. was off by just under 1mm.. doing another test now.. So I changed my retraction to 0.75mm and that seems to have solved the issue! 🙂
