RatOS v2.1 new set up - variable_bed_mesh_profile issue

Hi guys, I've just moved from a very old version from 2022 to V2.1. I had it set up to only load the bed mesh profile and not actually probe for every print, I realised after my first large print that RatOS v2.1 doesn't load the bed mesh like the old version did. Some googling told me to add "variable_bed_mesh_profile: ratos" into the code but i'm currently getting the following error; Option 'variable_bed_mesh_profile' in section 'gcode_macro RatOS' is not a valid literal: malformed node or string: <ast.Name object at 0x7530de08>...

Solution:

Ok I think i've resolved it 😅 the ratos bit just needs to be in quotations. variable_bed_mesh_profile: "ratos" I don't get the error anymore. Just gonna do a test print to be sure...

Endstop z still triggered after retract

Hello everyone! I finally got my printer moving after cheap bearings and belts were swapped. When I home the printer it homes both the x and y endstops then stops giving me an error saying 'Endstop z still triggered after retract" after. My probe stays triggered and I am scratching my head trying to narrow things down. For context I have an amazon no name inductive probe that I purchased just to get my printer running. I got a euclid probe but didn't feel comfortable yet adding that. I see the...

Solution:

It was my wiring. Endstop is open now but wont trigger. I may need a different pinda probe for now.

Strange Minion Behavior after Update 2.1

Hi there guys. I have some issues after upgrading to 2.1. My minion is not homing correctly on X and it also moves in the wrong direction when performing a bed Mesh and also out of the bed. I put on a video and a picture of my config. Also my debug.zip . Hope someone can help me out here

MPU6050 problem with ratOS 2.1

beacon mcu flash needed?

I think I did things wrong. 😁 I updated all my components in the web ui update manager. One of the items was beacon (not installed yet). So all components are showing up to date in web ui (except system packages anyway) Then I physically installed a beacon connected to Raspi. And changed my config from clicky to beacon. Output pins seem to have changed after updating to RatOS 2.1

This was the configuration of my daylight leds on previous version. On the latest version only the left LED goes on and the right one does weird behaviour, seems to illuminate sometimes when the printer is doing things.

Solution:

now today with tinkering on the rpi to resolve the voltage issues those damn dupont connectors came loose and without thinking I plugged it into PD12 again instead of PD14

RatOS 2.1 Repo is corrupt

After installing the 2.1 image all showed up in this list as corrupt. Then I manually updated moonraker as I found out through the search function here and got to the RatOS corrupt only stage. I then ran this update script ./RatOS/scripts/ratos-update.sh and restarted everything. The Corrupt flag is still there.

Solution:

ok, sounds like it is just the issue where mainsail displays it as "corrupt" but really it just can't connect to github to check the status

neopixel lights macro automation

Hey there. Is there a way to add functionality to RatOS so that my lights_on and lights_off macros get triggered when a print starts/finishes? This would be the first and last thing to happen after clicking print file. So before homing,etc. I know I could probably add start and finish gcode in the slicer, but I was looking for a way to bake it into the os. TIA. ✌️

RatOS Hard recovery - Not working , can't recover by SSH

After doing an Hardrecover of the RatOS, i cant reboot my OS, receiving the message as seen on first picture. after search for help on Facebook I was advised that this hard recovery was a mistake sported and i was told to try to recover by SSH on PI. But I cant do it on PI, in the two last pictures, is possible to see what i have tried on SSH and the messages i received. Please help me on recovery to avoid full fresh installation. Thanks....

Ratos 2.1 EBB42 V1.2 Pullup Resistor Issue

Looking for some direction here. I've seen this mentioned by others, but not seeing a solution for my issue. I'm trying to upgrade to RatOS V2.1 on my V-Core 3.1, but I'm getting ADC out of range errors on the toolboard, which is what the configurator calls out if the jumper isn't installed on the resistor. I installed the jumper yet still get the error. I reverted back to V2 with the jumper still installed and get the same error, but when I remove it my configuration works as expected. Am...

I just bought a raspberry 5...

I assumed that RatOS-v2.1.0-RC1 would support it. To my surprise it did not. Any plans to support it soon? Compliments by the way! On my older raspberry pi it is a HUGE impromvent.

You can read through the discussion in https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/859890291591217162/1238914634606706699 but the TL;DR - supporting pi5 is going to be a lot of work due to the amount of changes needed so it will not be anytime soon...

I currently have my 3D Printer up and running mainline Klipper with a Duet 6HC v1.02. Today, I started testing to see if I could migrate to RatOS even though it does not officially support the Duet series of boards. I copied over my (almost entire) working configuration to the printer.cfg file (this includes a board_pins mapping). Unfortunately, I am running into an error saying Unknown pin chip name 'vref_scaled'...
