question regarding womens blouses
Looking at a fun womens western shirt in size XL rn. How do women shirts run compared to mens shirting? I am usually between L and XL.
Though my concern is also that a womens XL will propably have far too much room in the chest area and will fit kinda strange. Or is that not that noticeable. I would wear it tucked anyway, so a longer front would not matter that much.

Double denim
I am currently thinking about getting a trucker jacket for some double denim fun. Are there any rules for how to do double denim "correctly" that I should be aware of? I assume one could either do matching colors or "jacket darker than pants darker than shirt" - have I gotten this right? Or could I also wear a white denim jacket with a dark pair of pants?

Can you wash leather buttons?
Hi y'all! I thrifted a really nice corduroy jacket yesterday. Only thing that bothers me is that it has really ugly plastic leather buttons instead of real ones. So im thinking of having them replaced with something nicer, like real leather buttons or whatever I can find while thrifting...
Main question being: the Jacket can be washed, but can you wash leather buttons? Im fine with limiting myself to hand washing, but I find dry cleaning supremely annoying so I would like to maintain the washability of the jacket to some degree...

Vintage Shopping recs in London?
Hi y'all! I will be in London on a research trip in a few weeks and want to use that occasion to see what the vintage market in London has to offer.
What kind of places can you recommend for that? I would describe my style as somewhat Ivy adjacent ( https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1116800072093532191/1230596838743343134/photo_2024-04-18_21-11-30.jpg?ex=663882dd&is=6637315d&hm=7cb5aac29a0d1c2b42049136f4d63dc8994116c55d26742aad0438e490b5eeda& ) awith a preference for double breasted stuff, and wide dramatic peak lapels (which I find hard to find). Finding stuff that channels the spirit of the 70s (think Tommy Nutter) would be the dream, but I try to stay realsitic.
I would be mostly interested in tailoring, but am also looking to expand my repertoire with fun stuff that might be on the more casual side. Fun pants (ones that are not dry-clean only) would also be fun.
If anyone has any tips that would be great 🙂

I just thought it would be nice to have a space to talk about thrifting as a subsection of the hobby. Especially bc so many of us do a lot of it.

Doing violence to a navy blazer
Just a stupid idea i am having rn. I often come across blazers when thrifting that fit in principle but the sleeves are to short. Is it in theory possible to just remove the entire arm of a blazer and turn it into a waistcoat/blazer hybrid thingy? Has anyone ever tried that?
Please tell me why this is a stupid idea 🤣

Creases on corduroy suit pants
Bit of a specific question: What are your thoughts on creases on suit pants made from corduroy? I feel like they look out of place and wan't to know if my intuition is wrong or if I should iron my corduroy pants
