Automatic restart if MCU is detected
I thought to write a little script that will only send the restart command if the last restart is more than 30 seconds old - but then again - that might be overly complicated for just convenience and a manual click of restart is acceptable...

polygons instead of circles n(mechanical issue)
If you are using Orca you can compare your current settings to some default profile - maybe it is something other than jerk

Had the same with my vcore 500 - there it was the jerk settings in my slicer - during some calibration test those were set to max 1 and I saved those as default. Should be around 7-9

Automatic restart if MCU is detected
Hmm - thanks a lot! This triggers a restart but as long as I keep the rule in the mcu will not reconnect. Somehow the rule created a loop as it appears to trigger again in the connection process. I will look into the linux part and try to find a rule that will trigger on the mcu being powered on but not on the connection part.

@miklschmidt - yes I did - the printer did not connect - instead I found a file named "printer" containing "FIRMWARE-RESTART" in /temp :-!

Frankenstein Upgrade of a CR10 keeps going to PAUSE
I did not find this check box in orca but I saw something funny during the last test print: the ratrig dashboard keeps showing all kind of different current layers during the 1st layer.

Frankenstein Upgrade of a CR10 keeps going to PAUSE
@blacksmithforlife 🇺🇸 in the meantime I did quite a number of tests and optimized whatever I could. I am not too happy with the bed mesh results - pretty sure this can not lead to frequent pausing - right?

Haha - me too!!! Just put it in and it works - so I guess just the wiring being the same is no reason to assume also the rest will be compatible (duh!)

Gear like pattern on some round shapes
Ha!! Found it! I checked my slicer settings against the current standard for the ratrig and found (among other small tweaks) that my jerk settings were off. (x and y 1!!) no idea how I ended up with those but setting them to 9 took care of the grear structure. Still don't know why it only showed with complex objects (that's why I did not check the slicer earlier) - but solved is solved!!

The problem remains. you can literally see the print head slowing down from 112mm/s and there is a sound like an anti-lock brake (it intends to slow down fast and then speeds up again in fast sequence) during the whole curve. I am sure this "start-stop" motion causes the ripples but I am out of ideas what can cause this and how to test further.

Saddle shape mesh (V-Core 3.1 500mm)
If this can be reproduced also with a heated-up printer - why not "fix" it with some layer of tape on the magnet sheet?
