How do I become a man that people respect simply by the way I dress, and present myself?
The biggest piece of advice, and I'm echoing many people in this thread, is: Be kind to yourself. It starts with the core idea that you're a good person worth love, especially your own. Don't do it everything at once, don't put pressure on yourself to maximize every second of your life, and don't buy anything with the thought that it'll magically cure you. Many of the most effective methods of self-improvement can be done with free materials or stuff you already have.
You describe in your post on #introductions that you're journaling and doing yoga. Great!

How long has it been? - Topic of the day 2/15/24
My first "conscious" fashion decision that I made was around 2014. Ordered Clark's desert boots, a bunch of flannels from American Eagle, and lurked the old /mfa.
The pandemic really leveled up my learning and interest. I grew out my head + facial hair, tucked in my shirts, and bought clothes that were actually in my size. I've also leaned into thrift shopping and discerning what works for me. I'm not afraid of just wearing what I like OR trying out something somewhat trendy - I just like clothes and aesthetics and it's fun to find out what works for me!
My next fashion goals would be to find a tailor and learn to invest in high-price, high-quality pieces (new and vintage).
