Body measurements
Anyone have any good resources for measuring areas for tailors/custom stuff? Thinking of ordering a spier and Mackay suit but they need measurements and my local tailor won’t take the measurements for someone else.
S/M said they need chest, stomach, natural waist, thigh, hips/seat and I will have to take those measurements myself, or at least get very close.
Any good images/how tos?

Beckett simonon sizing
I’m looking for a quality pair of dark brown leather monk strap shoes for my wedding this year and saw the BS monks and loved them. Curious if anyone can help with sizing though. I have a pair of Steve Madden chukka boots in a 10 that fit as well as some Cole haan boat shoes, also I believe in a 10.
Sizing on the BS site says 10 will do but want to ask before I buy.
Or or anyone has any other recs in that price point
Thanks

Studio suits? Or alternative
Hey everyone, I’m getting married in August and need a suit, obviously, but want something I can keep for other occasions as well (so no rental)
I have decided I want sage green, but very few shops carry the color (checked suit supply and a bunch of local). Has anyone tried studio suits? It says 70% wool and look the right color

Also open to other suggestions. I also can’t decide on if I want a vest or not and suspenders/belt (I kinda think suspenders could be a fun switch up once the jacket comes off)

Pant rise discussion
I’ll make this short but have a question regarding pant rise as it’s surprising to my gf that I can’t just “feel” where a pair of pants is suppose to sit.
It makes sense to me that regardless of rise, manufacturers would want rear/side pockets to sit in relatively the same position for ease of use. This would mean that the “rise” would be in added material above the pockets, no? And then the rest of the plant shape would help the pants naturally sit where they’re intended.
Basically, I haven’t found a single pair of pants that naturally sits at my actual waist or slightly below my belly button. I can pull them up of course but they don’t stay there regardless of a belt (unless I crank it down uncomfortably tight). I do, honestly, find this quite uncomfortable but I also don’t know if I’ve tried/bought true higher rise pants so I’m not sure if that’s even a fair comfort-check.
Thoughts/feedback?

wool pants/clothing questions
Hey all, hopefully my terminology is all good but with the season change I had some questions about wool clothing in general.
1. First off, what percentage of wool is considered good? I see 100% wool outer shell coats with synthetic inner linings, or wool blend socks etc. if one is looking for something of good quality, what’s a good basic number to look for?
2. How does one identify tweed? From Google, tweed is wool…so if something isn’t specifically labeled as tweed how do you tell? For example I saw a nice blazer (what i thought was nice) in banana republic last weekend - It had a good weight to it. It was thick and warm with a bit rougher texture and look to it. I thought it might be tweed but it wasn’t labeled as such. 3. Wool pants - where to get in Canada/onljne? Ideally around $200 cdn and can go a bit higher if needed. I usually have a bit of an issue with pants as I have a 32-34ish waist and 24” thighs so they’d need to fit a bit looser but ideally not “baggy” or oversized das I like a slim(mer) fit. Ideas? Any other tips about shopping for wool in general? Thanks!
