Studio suits? Or alternative

Hey everyone, I’m getting married in August and need a suit, obviously, but want something I can keep for other occasions as well (so no rental) I have decided I want sage green, but very few shops carry the color (checked suit supply and a bunch of local). Has anyone tried studio suits? It says 70% wool and look the right color https://www.studiosuits.com/products/sage-green-suit?srsltid=AfmBOoqRbAcA_SMZABsNDzXqsPbjuP2NYJwP1lTQVLqqxdeEkrZ3SZGM Also open to other suggestions. I also can’t decide on if I want a vest or not and suspenders/belt (I kinda think suspenders could be a fun switch up once the jacket comes off)

If you treat yourself to some new tailoring, you can't go wrong with our Sage Green Suit, which offers a trendy statement-making ensemble that is both timeless and adaptable. Our super 120's wool suit is made with a blend of wool and poly, whereas a solid pattern and green hue instantly give the outfit an eye-catching

$250 for a suit and 30% poly is p rough tbh but if you’re budget limited and need this color you can try it. I would caution that this business has many red flags of not delivering the suit on time and fitting well

Don't know if you want alternative recommendations, but since you mentioned Suit Supply, Spier & Mackay have this: https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/sage-green-woolsilklinen-neo-cut-suit-11335-neo2-hr01

Yes, thank you! I’m super open to suggestions and going to look at indochino today as well. I still don’t know all the MTM places, and certainly want something nice that will last

Spier is solid and I think this suit looks particularly nice

I love that you can see the linen texture throughout, but that it’s not pure linen. Any idea if it’s a regularly stocked item? I have lost 40lbs in the last year and a half and I’m not done yet, really don’t want to purchase something that will end up too large in 6 months

This is the first time I've seen it, and I think it was a recent addition. Their customer service is pretty good, might be worth reaching out. I'd assume they'd rotate it out toward the end of spring.

Thanks I’ll do just that

Any particular reasons? What about Harry Rosen custom suits? Is it all just bad? 🤣

They deliver a bad product not on time regularly. Idk about Harry Rosen but they sound similar tbh. For the $300 range Spier is the only brand I’d trust

Is the Canadian dollar really that bad? 🤣. That spier is $900. Appreciate it though, apparently the Harry Rosen is at least full canvassed so there’s that. I’ll work with Spier and go from there. Now to find shoes

Oh yeah Spier has much cheaper suits but that one is pricier

Ah ok. I don’t mind spending a bit for quality, just what o was seeing

Just making sure you know this, but the suit comes with a pair of trousers. The recommended pair would be a spare in case the included pair start to wear out. Even at $700 USD for the suit, it's still on the high side for Spier.

My impression that the listed price (898 for me) is one jacket and one pair of trousers. I’d need to buy a tie/shirt.
The recommended trouser below the main listing would be additional, yes? Sorry if that’s way over simplified to the point of “explain like I’m 5” but this is literally my first suit

No the listing is for the full suit

Yep, it would be a second pair. The trousers tend to wear through before the jacket and it can be hard to get a matching pair years down the line. And yes, you would need to get a tie/shirt. Are you in Canada? I can't seem to find a way to change the currency but I'm seeing 698 USD, since they're a Canadian brand I assume the price might be cheaper without the conversion

Spier sells a “drop 6” iirc which means that the pants size is 6 less than the jacket size. So if you buy a size 38 jacket the pants are a size 32

Yes I am in Canada I did see that lower down as well, thanks for pointing that out though much appreciated. Are pants sized the same as standard? Like a 32 would be the waist? I’m around a 44R in jackets with a 32 waist in regular pants but I’m sure I can work with them to sort sizing

Double check their measurement charts but idk if there’s a way to change the pant size you buy.

Spier does a MTM/MTO program where you can adjust the pant and jacket sizing as needed (for an upcharge and time delay due to making the suit after the order is placed). They also sell shirts and ties, and their ties are respectable

Ya I think I’m gonna put in a call this week and see what I can work with. I also saw they do phone appointments and I’m gonna meet with my tailor hopefully next weekend to get measurements
