I don’t know much about knit tech so I’m curious what tends to make better knits compared to J Crew. For example, I have a cashmere cardigan from Cavour. It’s nice and soft so I presume the yarn is decent, but it’s very frumpy and has no drape and generally looks terrible when I wear it. By contrast I have a couple of others that are lambswool and camel(?) that have much better structure. Is it the the gauge? Ply? Something with the yarn?

Salomon Inspo

I tend to dress fairly Ivy/Western but I'm drawn to some techy shoes like Salomons. Plus I'd love to have comfy shoes to wear for long walking days. Anyone have inspo of Salomons/Hokas/trail runners being worn in outfits that aren't fully techwear? Not sure I'd be able to make trail runners, fatigues, and an OCBD/chambray work but that would be the ideal.

I think there's some nice general advice like not focusing on individual items as much, but also interesting personal thoughts like how he reflects on a more "showy" outfit from the past (Not sure Simon has ever been accused of being too "showy" but we'll roll with it). A quick read that I think is interesting to see either as someone new to the hobby or having been in it for a while. I find myself getting caught up in individual items still that just don't mesh with the rest of my wardrobe or my lifestyle, but that's part of the journey.

Cotton Summer/Lightweight Robes

I have a nice fuzzy cold weather robe that I wear but I’d love to have a lighter weight one to wear when it’s warmer around the house. Suede is NOT delicate

https://burk.blog/posts/suede-rant/ An post I wrote about how suede really isn’t delicate. I’m not entirely sure how this myth got started but any split or full grain suede will be fine if it gets wet with proper care. No I don’t use nano protector sprays at all.
