What should I do with my hair?

Sup gang I’ve had the same general haircut and beard style for maybe a decade and I’m looking for some hard feedback and ideas. Issues: - sometimes it looks great and other times it looks terrible. Idk why that is - I have no clue what my hair type is or anything like that - I don’t use product, I’m open to trying some but I’m not confident that’s my issue Any ideas for styles or looks to try or feedback on the current do I’m also open to. I’m not shaving the beard. Pic 1: usually my reference photo when I’ve gone somewhere new Pic 2&3 instances where I’ve liked my current style The rest: bricks

I feel like grown out and combed back, with some texture and volume, would look really good on you, especially because you like the beard. Do you have a consistent shampoo/ conditioner routine? Like I usually shampoo every 4-5 days and condition most days. Sometimes all it takes is the right product. Total guess is that you have coarse hair like me. As far as holding products, sheer revival northern lights worked really well for me. Finally, if you don’t want to commit to growing it out, you might like connecting the sides and top a bit more.

What do you dislike about your current hair style? And what’s your current hair care routine? (Wash frequency, which shampoo, etc)

Agreed, I think letting the sides grow out would be a good move

I mostly dislike how it looks immediately after a cut. I'm also just kinda tired of it but don't know what I would try or do instead. Care routine: Very minimal. I shower just about every day but shampoo + condition only once every couple of weeks. I usually just steal shampoo and conditioner from my wife. I forget what kinds lol. Currently no other products

i’d be curious what your current cut looks like on the back of your head? I feel like if you want to keep the front / top looking similar to the way it does now, you could either grow out the back a bit for a soft mullet look or do a hard line in the back to add some fashionable flare lol, fwiw though i don’t think your current cut looks bad at all but i can relate to wanting to change things up

this is to illustrate what i meant, but these are just styles i like that could work with your beard imo. Also @The Teenage Gentleman lol ‘s recent piece about finding your hairstyle was helpful and thought provoking for me

i also like the above posters middle part idea, that could look cool. One way to add consistency in how often your hair looks good (in my experience) is using a clay or matte pomade to help shape it and add some texture. i have painfully straight hair and that def helps but just my 2c
