Salomon Inspo
I tend to dress fairly Ivy/Western but I'm drawn to some techy shoes like Salomons. Plus I'd love to have comfy shoes to wear for long walking days.
Anyone have inspo of Salomons/Hokas/trail runners being worn in outfits that aren't fully techwear? Not sure I'd be able to make trail runners, fatigues, and an OCBD/chambray work but that would be the ideal.

The account Salomonology is pretty great curating Salomon fits that aren’t just tech/gorp: https://instagram.com/salomonology?
ty tho this is helpful
hoka/salomon and adjacent shoes
I think I’m xt6 pilled now
Idk how applicable
I guess it’s p gorpy
I’m sorry I couldn’t see what brand sweater that person is wearing in the first photo if only there was a way to show
wtf
Yeah lemme zoom in for u Charli
Yeah I think I'll have to go kinda gorpy for it. My FW stuff is def more trad/ivy so they might be more of a SS shoe that I can wear with baggy style shorts and what-not
I think they go great w fatigues
and a sweater up top
But like u said with an ocbd or w/e up top it gets questionable lol
Just trying to put together a few potential outfits with my current wardrobe to justify a pair tbh
I could prolly do my fatigues and one of the ancient hoodies I have from HS lul
what pieces do you have in mind, i’d like to see the combo
Story used to use them for lookbooks a lot.
Hmm unsure if I have fit pics. General item list tho:
- Baggies/river shorts
- OG107 fatigues
- Old hoodies I have that I generally don't consider "fashion" but I think will work
- Crew neck sweatshirts
I dunno if I can get them to work with the cords or denim I have. It's all p western/ivy in vibe
Fwiw I wear my Salomon's with fatigues/hoodies/long sleeve tees a lot.
I've been looking for cargo pants a bit as well tbh so I think those would work if I got the right pair
fatigues, cargos, or baggy pants are killer with trail runners
Do you happen to have fit pics? I can also be les lazy and search #waywt if they're there
I'll see if I can find some, I barely take/post anymore.
np if it's effort I can't find any fit pics either atm
There's a generic brand of British insta dude who wears xt6 a lot. Eg: https://instagram.com/matterialist

God I hate how I’m salo pilled now fuck y’all for showing inspo
This has been super helpful. I think I need to be a bit more EG/Story pilled. I did some searching on my own and mostly turned up more arcteryx type stuff
I have enough shoes I need to figure out which ones to sell now 😭
heres three I can find of me in terrible quality
hell yeah tyty
and I'd definitely sub them in here
Now I just gotta pick a colorway and start trail running
omfg
trail runners and shorts work well too
Yeah I think my main fit idea was the baggies/river shorts I have and then whatever top makes sense for the day
they are very easy to style imo and it really boils down to color for versatility
Yeah my MM GATs have been on their last legs for a while so looking for something new and a little more interesting to replace them with
Maybe some of @wuz fits
omg he's me
What I'm getting from this is, the slouchier the better when it comes to non-techy pairings?
I read that salomon sportstyle like the xt-6s are actually repros of the trail runners and will not hold up to serious hiking or trail running 🤷♂️
Possible. Tho Salomon in general is a top-tier trail running brand
Yeah I think their actual trail runners are great and I have a pair of their hiking boots that have held up super well
What do y'all think about tops to pair with the xt6? I mostly wear buttondowns of various types but
Ok mid way typing this I actually thought a tucked in gray gitman vintage shirt I have + black gramiccis would go hard
ignore me
posted this on the sub a while ago if it helps
a few recent fits i could find too
Still used in ultra circles by quite a few people. I think they moved them out of slab and into main production but didn't change the construction, tech just moved on. They're quite heavy and stiff by this point, and the lugs are best for fairly soft ground.
That makes sense - they're still decent just "outdated" compared to what else is on the market.
