fit check/feedback
Hey everyone, new here and mostly new to men’s fashion as a whole and want to start dressing better. I’ve seen some generic advice off some YouTube channels and tried to start thinking more about materials and how things fit. Anyways, looking for some feedback on some things I tried on today at an LL Bean store (my first time ever in one). My style preference is typically slightly fitted and more form fitting.
My own thoughts:
- the pants/shoes are my own, not part of the outfit. They are probably one of my favorite fitting articles - I do like a slightly slimmer profile and the chukkas were something I tried last year and do like them. Open to feedback though. I tried on the LL bean corduroys in my size (32w/30L) and they didn’t fit. We’re basically a skinny fit and I couldn’t move in them.
- the navy long sleeve is a large, slightly fitted fit. I feel like it fits well through the shoulders/chest but in an ideal world I feel like I’d probably tailor in the midsection. The sleeves might be a tad long and if it was going to a tailor could be fixed as well.
- the light grey is a medium, regular/standard fit and overall I liked the feel a lot. Very comfortable, but still doesn’t seem to fit “right” just not sure why (could be a me issue)
- the dark grey is a medium slightly fitted like the navy just a smaller size. I felt like maybe the shoulders didn’t fit right, I feel like I’m in between the medium and large which is one of the reasons I think I have such a hard time shopping
- the light blue is just a wool/cashmere blend sweater. Loved it, super soft, felt like a good fit.
all feedback welcome, trying to start the journey.

All of these fit pretty well imo! The navy one fits fine, doesnt need any tailoring (also not usually worth it to tailor tees). The dark grey one a size down seems a little to small around the arms and shoulders. The light gray one is fine too, maybe for the style you're going for a bit long.
Thank you!
+1 for Navy as is. Obviously you can play with things as you try styles, but for a baseline fitting, the crop is good, it sits well in shoulders/arms, and it works better because it's less tight everywhere than the others.
Appreciate the feedback. I do tend to gravitate towards a more fitted look but certainly not going for the “I’m in the gym” compression shirt. I currently own two long sleeves, one from when I was 30lbs heavier and the other is a work shirt so does not matter how it fits (I’m a mechanic so it’s just for warmth/layers).
I just took a better look at the crop compared to the others as well, thanks for pointing out (I’m learning what to look for)
