Building around Alden Color 8 Shell Cordovan LHS penny loafers
I'm looking at picking up my first pair of loafers and I think the choice is Color 8 Shell but a) gosh it's a lot of money b) I'm not confident my current wardrobe can support them
Can they truly be styled with anything? I tried googling fits with these loafers for inspo but didn't find much.
I guess I'm worried about wasting 1k on shoes because I can't figure out what to wear with them.
What approach would you take if you were building a wardrobe to support Color 8 loafers?

You can only own one pair of Alden penny loafers. Which color/type do you choose?
type meaning shell/calf/suede etc
I want exactly one pair of Alden unlined loafers.
I want to be able to wear them to work (tailored clothing fits) and casually (shirt+shorts) and match my usual color schemes of grey & blue and brown & sand/cream & green.
What pair would be the most versatile?

Office workers - what socks do you wear to work?
I need help with my sock game. I wear trousers, button down dress shirts, sometimes a sport coat, and ankle boots to work (usually either Alden snuff suede chukkas or Thursday shadow grey captains)
I've been wearing Uniqlo cotton crew socks but they're too small for my feet and they're getting uncomfortable as they wear down. I want to get rid of them.
I did some searching here and people seem to always recommend Darn Tough. I don't want to wear a hiking sock to work, it doesn't fit the vibe of my trousers and dress shirt.
I also found recs for American Trench but they seem a little too... idk, street wear? Am I wrong about this?
I have a pair of Happy Socks that I wear in the summer, but they are too thin to wear in the cold with boots.
Any recs? Thanks

Anyone know who makes the shoes for Charles Tyrwhitt?
Do they make their own? Or do they relabel someone else's? I picked up these suede chukkas but the quality seems questionable compared to the usual suspects (AE, meermin, etc). They don't even seem to specify whether they are goodyear welted or not. Anyone know if there's more info out there?

Allen Edmonds loafer sizing
I'm shopping for my first pair of loafers. I typically wear shoe size 11.5. The AE salesperson measured my foot via Brannock and it showed 12.
I tried on some Randolphs and my normal size felt very loose, so I landed on size 11D. They fit very snug (but not painful) and there's no heel slippage at all.
I took them home and am wearing them in the house to make sure they're right. I'm noticing my pinky toe feels a little cramped. It's making full contact with the side of the shoe. When I stand, the leather flexes out over the welt a bit. Is this expected or does it sound like they're too small?

Stylish ways to bring lunch to work?
I want to start bringing my own lunch to work to save money, but my messenger bag isn't big enough to fit bulky tupperware. I'd rather not wear a backpack to work if I can help it. I commute via bus/train. Any ideas how I can bring my lunch without killing my fashion vibe? I suppose budget would be $100-400 but ideally on the low end if it's really just a lunchbox or something. Thanks!
