Belt questions

1) Is it weird to buy a dedicated belt for each pair of (non-black) leather shoes you buy to guarantee the color matches? (of course, if I have 2 brown pairs that are very close in color, I'll wear the same belt) 2) I just got these snuff suede Aldens, they're my first suede shoes. Should my belt be suede too? Or else what are my other belt options?

matching belt and shoes is really not a needed thing do it if you want

Really just depends on how much you care Most people just ballpark it with a close enough color

I like to match as closely as possible as a personal preference

Go for it. Generally kinda expensive to do, but if you want to match as close as possible, people buy the belt made out of the same leather from the shoemaker.

I usually try to go off of either the shoe leather or the welt leather. Just get close enough, being exact is .01% level hyper focus

what awz said, and on the suede thing. I think most people dont but they do make suede belts if you really want

looks like Alden's matching suede belt goes for 200 which is more than I'd like to spend for a belt so maybe I'll head to nordstrom rack and get something close enough

Yeah. I'd shop around. Beckett Simonon does good belts for fair prices. They're usually ready to ship unlike the shoes, ex: https://www.beckettsimonon.com/products/nelson-belts-suede

for your preference a braided multicolor belt might be worth looking into; you get the benefit of "matching" multiple colors in one belt

this is a fun idea! yeah I like Thursday's belts too I've found AE belts to be very nice as well though not the same tier price tier

I've had their natural chrome one for over a year and wear it 4-6 times a week, it's holding up very well

ok here's another belt question: do you find your belts always develop a kink right around where the belt buckle sits? (caused by pulling the belt when removing it) or am I removing my belt wrong lol
lordofthethighs.
I always get a kink in the back from the belt loop above my derriere Just wanted to use that word

Personally I wouldn’t buy anything from them because the founder is awful and donates a bunch of money to a right-wing anti-abortion PAC.
