Loafer alternatives

So I’ve got quite flat feet and I do not get enough support from a loafer, even with a custom insert. Plus, because of the lack of support, my ankles tend to pronate which I suspect will end up hurting the structure of the shoe. So, is there an aesthetic alternative to a loafer? Is the answer a derby shoe?

Good looking backpack

Im looking for a nice looking backpack, preferably all black and similar looking to this Sandqvist Ruben 2.0. From what I've found though, this backpack has questionable quality, so thats why im looking for alternatives. Have also found the Tomtoc Navigator 61 to look good, but does anybody know some other alternatives?

Waxed Barbour jacket target discount?

What’s a good target price for a NWT Barbour waxed jacket? There’s a sale near me where they have both the Bedale & Beaufort for 50% off, $400 -> $200. Want to know if that is “steal” territory or happens regularly. Colors available are the classic Sage & Olive, and I believe they have my size in stock. Though I plan to try on in person for sizing given the recommendations I’ve seen in the various guides. Thanks for the help!...

I feel like my wardrobe has become stagnant.

The title kind of says it all, i'm at a point with my wardrobe where i'm happy with my outfits and everything i have, but i'm not experimenting as much as i used to. i'm not as excited as i used to be. Do you all have any suggestions (not buying new clothes) that I could take to try to change things up a little? Once you've built a wardrobe that you're happy with, how do you keep pushing and improving from there?

Very basic middle-aged man fashion help needed with kinda nice pants

I'm a 50-something man in the US; 5'11 and ~225 lbs. 38 waist is often too loose, 36 is often too tight. I work from home, so over the past few years my already-limited wardrobe has whittled down to mostly nothing but jeans and t-shirts, plus a suit I wear on rare occasions. I play in a band, and we have a show this weekend where we've been asked to "dress up" (collared shirt, not jeans, but not suit/tie). I have zero pants that fit into this category, and I'd honestly like to put together some more fashionable outfits to wear on date nights with my wife and so on. But I have zero understanding of fashion, so I don't even know what kinds of pants to look for other than "khakis". Would like to get a few pairs I could wear with brown loafer-type shoes and a collared shirt, but just utterly clueless where to start. Budget is . . . ugh, I don't even know. Would rather spend under $100 a pair? I don't even know what's reasonable. I don't WANT to spend $100/pair haha. (Second hand is fine.) But I definitely need at least one pair by this Saturday, so there is at least some urgency to finding SOMETHING. Any suggestions for where to start? I'm in the suburbs of a large city and have easy access to outlets, department stores, malls, and stuff like that. Thank you!...

Looking for black pants inspiration

Always had a weird aversion to wearing black pants. Probably from growing up always dealing with pet fur. I still have a pet I just also have a good lint brush. So I'm looking to add some black trous' into the rotation but realized my own inspo folder has like, 3 things that work. in: waywt from: xmdot has:image for my style but generally pretty mfad house style, not too adventurous but willing to go there. More casual than ivy or tailoring, but I'll throw on a little blazer now and then....

Dig the sack-y appearance. What say you to: taking in the shoulders a bit, correct sleeve pitch, let out front darts so the pattern matches, take in the back a bit and sew in a proper buttonhole? Cotton ripstop jacket use

Hi I recently sort of impulse bought this jacket but upon receiving it and doing some late research I've realised that it doesn't have as much practicality as I expected (waterproof, wind resistance, insulation). I like the look of it after trying it on and it fits well but I can't shake the thought that I've bought something that is kinda pretending to be something it's not, and as a result is kinda stupid? To me it really looks like a functional coat from the outside but in reality if it rains I'd just get soaked even with a hood.. I'm guessing it should be used as light outerwear during the summer but again to me it looks like a coat so I think i might look weird compared to being used during colder seasons. I'm in England so it rains quite often and is usually windy. I bought it on sale and can still return it so I just wanted to get some opinions since I'm unsure on its usage as well as whether or not it was a good purchase value-wise....
