Middle ground glasses brands
Gang I’m due for a glasses upgrade but I can’t do another pair of warby Parker frames I simply can’t do it. I’ve looked a little at moscot and gentle monster but if anyone else has any recs for where to look…

Im gonna follow this bc I could use some new glasses as well eventually
I'm in this situation too
Yeah I need to follow this, I’ve used zenni for years but i could probably do better
Yeah zenni and eyebuy are FINE but
I have had the best luck with ray bans fitting, they’re comfy and haven’t had any durability concerns
Anne et valentin is funky and in their stores in person they carry other brands
I really like my Barton Perriera specs
Good quality, have held up much better over 3 years than any WP pair I've owned
Somewhat related, what is the process of getting lenses in a frame replaced like? I’ve thought about either buying sunglasses or secondhand glasses and just getting lenses changed bc depending on the cost that might be cheaper
My optometrist was able to make lenses for a pair of frames I brought them. I'd just ask your usual place/ some local stores before finding frames.

Could try vintage frames as well. I haven’t done this but I’ve been meaning to create a saved search on eBay
That’s been my thought too
Moscot pilled here 🤡 also still like Ray Bans as others have said
easy, depends on your benefits. Most optometrists charged way too much for it + anti-glare coating (necessary) but some charged fair prices in my experience
I've done online before but make sure they're not giving you really heavy/thick low index lenses
Shuron for classic stuff. Kio Yamato is known for ultralight frames (though you need to splurge for high index lenses to really benefit) and goes for fairly cheap on ebay, eyevan can also be found similarly, Mykita is a lot of fun and has annual sales, JF Rey, etc. Matsuda also often has sample sales.
My last two pairs have been from Masunaga, the newest one used, and I love them.
You really can tell the difference in plastic/hinge quality from warby Parker.
Cubitts has treated me really well and has an awesome return policy
