Are you in USA? Looking for a particular shoe?
Walmart the Conqueror
Would probably depend on the shoe

I read somewhere: price is what you pay, value is what you get. I think it's personal/subjective.

For Doc Martens make sure the sole is in good shape since the way they construct them makes it harder than a normal goodyear welted boot to be resoled

“slightly used” isn’t s great thing to go by. you got pictures of it?
Walmart the Conqueror
I can’t imagine slightly used docs would have that much wear on their soles I would only worry about resoling them if you actually could see yourself doing that Or if you think you’ll wear them often enough for the soles to wear down quickly

retail minus $50 would be a great place to start

How much does it cost to resole for y'all?

Nobody is resoling docs, if they need to be resoled get a different pair There are so many secondhand docs available without cooked soles

Doc Martens have an official store on depop for second hands (I once lowballed them for jokes)

The goodyearwelt on a doc marten isn’t functional for resoling because they melt the sole on, so a resole would actually be a rewelting most likely. You’d have to find a cobbler that’s willing to do that since it’s generally a more complex higher end service, and I’d probably estimate it costs on the order of $250-300 Which is why it doesn’t make any sense to resole a doc unless it has sentimental value

if you're in the UK its feasible, idk EU though. most people don't bother resoling docs

Dr. Martens Repairs
Resole and Welt - Classic DMS Sole in Translucent
Choose your preferred welt colour and stitching colour. You could go for the classic Dr. Martens black welt with yellow stitching combination, or mix it up. Price is per pair. Please note: May feel tight again after the repair, and may need breaking in! We don't currently offer platform resoles but we're working on it!

Alr Why are we talking about resoling docs lmfao Bro said they were lightly used It’s irrelevant to the question

Still, thanks for the discussion. Fwiw I ordered some on vinted that have been "worn once and then stood around for 2 years" for 70€. Let's see how that works out.
