What kinds of jackets are there?
I want to pick up some more light and medium jackets so I can add some more variety to my wardrobe, but I'm kind of stuck because I'm not too familiar with the different types/styles of jackets. What jacket styles would you recommend I look into, and how can I learn more about the different types?

3 days late sorry but honestly restarting this thread with some specific examples of jackets that you don't know the name of but dig the look of might get you better response.
but wanted to throw some words out there anyway for you to google (not necessarily types but definitely relevant things to know):
- chore coat (pockets on the front but usually the slimmer kind, often made of heavy cotton or denim, kinda a step up from an overshirt)
- field jacket (beeeeeg chunky pockets, milsurpey like fatigues)
- leather (obv)
- jean jacket (obv)
- sherpa jacket (got the fuzzy lining on the inside, which usually pops through in the collar as well)
- barbour jacket (I'm pretty sure this is a brand? but I associate this with a really distinctive contrast collar and some big pockets on the front)
- puffer jacket (usually some interesting wavy patterns on the outside, filled with down so it'll run warm, leans a little tech-ey just from the texture of the material IMO)
could also think about something like a mac coat, which is longer but thinner and lands kinda in jacket territory for me because of that
also remember if you see someone with a sick jacket on in waywt just pop in and they may be able to give you the words you need.
honestly seems like you got a number of these covered in your wardrobe, I think a good field jacket could go hard tho not sure you have one of those yet
I also have the field jacket brainworms rn
art, elbarto, jawn come to mind as cool jacket wearers for your waywt scrolling convenience
I could’ve sworn I closed this thread
surprise!
