Best place to find plugin developers?
I am now onto looking for a developer for the THIRD time for one server as the first one could not complete the plugin and the second one deleted his entire discord account (do not worry, I got the refund since it was through a freelancing server), but I am still just stuck on where to go to find reliable devs. BBB is getting pretty bad imo since half the replies I get are obvious scams or freelancing discord servers (which I never want to use after my pretty miserable time with Arcane Studios), and I know a bit of Kotlin but not enough for the plugin I need. I could also try getting something together with ChatGPT for a couple of weeks as I think it would be possible since I have used it for a few smaller plugins in the past, but I am just not sure where to go. How do you all handle server development, and is there a go-to place for developers for you? Thanks for any help!

Is a past-due plugin for months from a plugin developer OK?
Hey guys! I am creating a server that requires a huge plugin. This project started back in May, and I hired a developer to create the plugin for the server I was making. He said that original plugin would take about a week to complete, and ended up getting just the basic features done in the plugin 3 months past the due date, which was fine, even though the server was missing a lot of features that would be added overtime. That server ended up running for two weeks before I ran into a lot of issues with how the original plugin worked, so I asked the developer about a possible rework of this plugin that he agreed to in August. He said the much larger version of the plugin would be done September 22nd.
Then the series of delay, after delay, after delay started. I didn't mind them until the point of the plugin getting delayed week after week that he says "it will be done friday" or "it will be done tomorrow". I haven't even got any sort of test build this entire time the plugin has been in development, which mind you has been since August. Server members that I have promised a server release date for are leaving because I have been wrong about the release time after time mostly because the dev can't seem to figure out when this plugin will actually be done.
I don't think I am being scammed as I have yet to pay the full price as I have paid like half of it at the start of the plugin, and there is a github repo with code and very good evidence he is working on something, I just don't know what to do anymore. I can't find another developer since I already paid this one, and he would likely expect the other half based on how close he is to finishing the plugin. He says he will be done this week and told me to outright just announce a release date of this weekend, but it is looking more and more like this plugin just won't be finished.
Any advice? I didn't mind the delays much until members actually started to leave over them.

Port forwarding a home server
Hi all! I recently setup a home server running CasaOS through a debian linux install. I know barely anything about networking, and I am just relying on TCPShield as a reverse proxy to keep people off of my home IP. I opened up the port 25555 since I don't want to use the default 25565 in-case I need to open up more servers on it in the future, and I also opened a port for a dynmap on 8123 (I don't know if I needed to do this or not, and if I need to also secure that since I don't think TCPShield will cover that).
Now my main question here is, after I have opened up the ports, what do I do now? My router already has a static IP setup locally, and the ports are opened, I just don't really know how to configure it, and I also just have some security concerns since like I said, I don't have much networking knowledge and don't know what TCPSheild fully covers. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

What are the pros and cons of self-hosting?
Hi all, my friend recently sent me a DM saying that he had a 12GB i7 computer that he wasn't using, and that I could buy it off of him for a little bit of money. I've been using Pebblehost to host a private server that I'm thinking of taking public this fall, and the servers starting to get more and more expensive to pay for as it needs more resources, so this really got me thinking about self-hosting, whether I buy that computer off of my friend or buy another one. It would make much more sense.
What are the pros and cons of self-hosting? What would I have to worry about that my server host already covers, and what are some tips that anybody could give me? I don't know much about port forwarding or really anything network related, and would I have to worry about DDOS attacks on my home router if I self-hosted? I just want to know if self-hosting would be a good solution for me or not. Thanks!

Does anybody know where I can find a server owner?
So this will come off as a really stupid question, and that's because it is a really stupid question. I have an idea for a server but do not have the financial or legal responsibility to own it because I'm 15. I feel like there is some person out there does and would be willing to try this idea out as I already have a huge foundation built up from the time I tried this idea myself and failed, I just want to know if theres a place where I can find them.

Is it possible to modify where ores spawn in already existing chunks?
I have cleared out all default ores in my world with WorldEdit, and I am trying to make ores only spawn in certain areas of a map, and this would be very hard to do with worldedit. Is there a plugin or a command in worldedit that could help me with this? The map is only 1000x1000.
