looking for the maker of this hat
The maker, Cooperstown Ball Cap Co. went under in like 2010. https://archivalblog.com/archival-lament-cooperstown-ball-cap-co/ Might be able to find some of their old collabs (sassafras, beams) or mainline stuff secondhand but as you mentioned their original website is dead. There may also be some vintage baseball resellers who have some originals still, not sure where you’d look for that but as someone with an annoying head shape for hats I sympathize with the search for a well-fitting hat

Generally agree with the take about slightly off cuts / details. There’s just always something a bit wrong with them. It’s like they’re 80% of the way there on their better pieces

Levi's Vintage Clothing brand/Selvedge Denim Jeans
The 105 is based on a 50s-ish cut to my knowledge, but it's not really specified anywhere. If they're after a 1944 cut specifically, sugar cane also makes one for what it's worth

Do you have a budget in mind? I really like my orSlow 105s but there are lots of options out there for that 501-type look

I made the mistake of giving a presentation on ivy at a work retreat (we all had to present in a hobby and I had just read Ametora) and now people ask me “is this ivy?” at work all the time, so I guess I do talk about clothes more than I’d like to

I go to some events held by shops in my city that carry cool stuff (EG, kapital, earth studies,etc.). I always feel a bit like a poser when I show up but it’s cool to at least briefly meet people with similar vibes

It took me a while to jump into the discord thing & I still mostly don’t know how to interact with it, but it feels a lot more engaging than the Reddit ever did. There’s way more casual back & forth which feels better than the post/comment relationship on Reddit

I feel the same about the 860s but I was at least on the fence about those. The 1000s just aren’t doing much for me & I dont feel like I could make them work that well in my wardrobe. Granted, I’m still wearing some cooked 550s so what do I know

The rise of chore coats in as uniforms in restaurants
I’ve had this experience. Ate at a “trendy” restaurant with servers and bartenders in (mostly) classic blue chore coats similar to mine and had a moment when I was walking through the restaurant and someone else assumed I worked there. It’s only a matter of time before it infects every half-decent spot near you
