Stain or bleach mark?

Another question about the pants I posted about here: https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1261064793230676089/1261064793230676089. They have this reddish mark on them. Do you think this is is a stain of some kind, or a bleach mark? I've tried a few gentle cleaning methods on it, but didn't see much change if any at all.

I'll give it a try. The thing is, these are 60 year old pants, so that's easier said than done. Thanks! Luckily I wasn't the one to do this, they came that way

I had obvious blood stains on a pair of fatigues I ordered once :huhh2: You could dye them (what I ended up doing, they were also Vietnam era)

I've definitely seen that before, but have been lucky enough to find ones without. Do you have a picture of them after being dyed?

They're in storage now I'm afraid, sorry! I think they looked good, the dye took well but it's still a bit of a crap shot

I'm probably just going to leave these as is, but I did dye a different pair of vintage pants before

What color did you dye yours?

Just a darker olive green I don't remember the brand exactly but I wanted to keep the same sort of vibe as they had So just choose something that was vaguely military green but dark enough to cover
