Corduroy - Topic of the day 11/16/24
I should clarify that my "slim" corduroy back then was closer to skinny. :xdcrying: I think they were Bonobos pre-Walmart in their skinniest fit.

Corduroy - Topic of the day 11/16/24
I love corduroy. Darker palette for fall and winter, and you can introduce some lighter colors early spring/late summer. I used to have more pairs and colors back in the slim days and am slowly reintroducing wider pairs into my current wardrobe. They just pair so well with wool sweaters and evoke a very cozy feeling for me when it's cold out. And the texture's fun - sometimes when I'm needing a stimulation I'll just scratch my pants lmao.

Best crocs colour
Not a fan personally, don't really like the logo across the sole. I'd rather go all black or bone.

Yeah, it honestly depends on the context and what sort of outfits you want to wear with them. I think thinking on that will help narrow down a choice. But you can't really go super wrong with either black or bone, they'd both be pretty versatile.

Personally prefer darker over lighter, but it depends on what you'd be wearing them with. I have some in Espresso that are lined, and the brown goes with a lot of my fall and winter outfits with darker palettes. Conversely I can't really wear them in summer and would go with a lighter color. I've also seen some fits with the Realtree camo ones that go pretty hard.

Location and how if affects your style. - Topic of the day 11/10/24
This is an interesting question for me being from South Dakota. I never even felt truly rural/Midwest, never felt inspired by northern yeehaw farmer, so I never incoporated that sort of thing into my own styling. Never really felt like I belonged despite growing up and living there for 32 years. And on top of that, there was virtually no one that had fashion as a hobby, let alone men's fashion apart from the handful of menswear stores around town. I think South Dakota shaped my fashion journey in the sense that I felt pretty alone with that as something I cared about. All of my inspo was online, from places I never been to, people I hadn't met before, clothes I hadn't seen or felt in person before.

Fall/Winter Style Discussion
This will be my first winter in DC actually, and although it does snow here, it's nothing like the South Dakota winters I'm used to that were just brutally cold. Subzero temps and high winds and such. I get to exercise more "warm winter" outfits, which I'm all for

Fall/Winter Style Discussion
For this winter I'm hoping I can snag an actual big coat, more like ankle length or at least comes down to calf. Most of my current ones sit at knee or thigh length, and they just don't feel big enough,

Brand Spotlight: Uniqlo - Topic of the day 10/27/24
Uniqlo was so essential starting my own fashion journey. Cheap OCBDs, skinny black jeans, some interesting graphic tees, etc. I remember one of my first pieces I ever got was this dip-dyed shirt, and I wore that everywhere. I thought it was so cool I could get "good looking" clothes this cheap.
And eventually I graduated as I was able to spend more on more expensive brands that had way more interesting clothes, but I still give them a look every now and again, and I still pick up a piece every now and again for experimenting. Like I haven't worn turtlenecks that much before, so I picked up one of their mock necks a few weeks ago to play around with that sort of styling.
I still recommend them to people first starting out. I think Uniqlo is still a solid choice for people just starting to dip their toes into styling better without breaking the bank.

Styling Clothes - Topic of the day 10/10/24
I feel like I'm in the same boat here. Styling is where I'm currently struggling, and I think for me, part of it isn't necessarily lack of clothing but both lack of accessories and not enough attention to tailoring that can give an outfit that real oomph.
But to stick more to the topic, I'm digging the tuck at the moment. Just feels good.

The Art of the Fit Pic - Topic of the day 9/23/24
I enjoy my fit pics where I'm out and about much, much more than the ones I struggle to take on a self-timer in my living room. And having someone else (my girlfriend who I'm eternally grateful for) be the fit pic taker makes it so much faster.

How do you build an outfit? - Topic of the day 9/17/24
personally I think about color scheme first, lighter vs. darker palette, whatever I'm feeling that day. then I try to see if I can build something new with what I currently have. occasionally I'll build the fit around a specific piece I hadn't worn in a while or want to try it in a new way. occasionally "formality" influences the decision but not frequently. if I'm tired or not feeling adventurous, I'll just repeat a fit I like that fits within a color scheme/mood I'm feeling.
