Day to Night - Topic of the day 1/28/25
How do you transition your outfit from day to night - add a jacket? take off a tie? change clothes entirely? Should a fit be able to function all day in your opinion - why or why not?

I go on this server at night to talk about clothes
WHY ARE YOU WEARING CLOTHES AT NIGHT GO TO BED
Outside clothes to inside clothes
I have not a single time in my life thought about day outfits and night outfits ngl
I have sometimes gone to work and then to a rave and had to dress more conservatively
Or work and a date
If im planning to be out all day there's a good chance that im changing at least once
there's not like set rules for me but if I'm in the office and then planning on idk a team dinner or a date after then im gonna reset and refresh before going out again
yea i just wear regular work stuff when going out if it's after work
i respet the shirt and tie wearer at the beepboop music show
my work lets me get away with a lot (most of the outfits i post i wear to work) so if im going out to a show or a bar after work i usually dont change
but i also like putting outfits together so i do def sometimes go for a whole new outfit, especially if it's a show i'm playing
most of the time when i do change my night outfits are 10% sluttier
I’m a fan of either choosing a fit that does both (so no need for additions except removing a blazer post-work) or changing entirely to suit the vibe.
Which is probably why I mostly make plans on weekdays that can accommodate a suit or suit trousers+top, unless I’m working from home
With today's increasingly casual society, there's less and less of a need for a distinction IMO
Tuesdays are specific because we boulder on Tuesdays, so I’ll change early evening regardless. Currently running errands post-wfh in joggers and a sweatshirt, then will change into the leggings and tee in my climbing bag.
Mostly agree
i wear clothes
I wear different stuff at day and night
I think that mostly, it’s not a big deal to be slightly overdressed at the bar
mostly I dress more experimental at night because I'm surrounded by people I feel safer
you don‘t have to think about it when you do it like me and don‘t have a social circle to meet at night:galaxybrain:
tbch, i’m the kind of person who prefers whatever they’re wearing looks good or at least decent at all stages of breakdown
If I'm dogwalking / wfh in the morning, and heading out for food later I'll 100% wear two entirely different outfits. If it's just the weather I'll add layers.
same
I always switch out my brown cowboy boots into black cowboy boots at exactly 6PM
No brown after 6 folks!
I work from home and wear the same thing all day - an outfit that's comfy while simultaneously something I feel OK leaving the house in.
I used to have day fits and night fits about a decade ago, back when I worked in office and was forced into a "business casual" style for that. I'd immediately go home and change. The slim khakis/slim OCBDs/CDBs was NOT the going out fit thankfully.
Day, night :xd:
Jokes aside, I so very rarely have to wear more than jeans and a non wrinkled shirt for work that most of the time my day/night looks are pretty much the same
Maybe toss a tee on instead of a collared shirt during the summer
I have and continue to work from home for the past decade. I used to wear just sweats and hoodies all day, and would then dress up more in the evening or on weekends kind of as a reaction to being in sweats all the time.
As I got interested in fashion, I’ve changed my approach to wear nice things I like because I enjoy them even when working from home and not on camera. So much less distinction now
i completely undress. no shirt, no pants, no underwear, no hair, no skin. maybe some socks but that is it.
Do your wet skinless feet stick to your socks? Does that effect your sock fabric choices?
Who said he wears them on his feet?
If I was skinless and I got to wear only socks I’d probably use them as a blindfold so as not to see my hideous self
I work from home so I typically wear what I like unless I have “important” meetings and then I’ll at least put on a shirt with a collar or a sweater or something. Often the only time I change is if I’m going out after work and I need a vibe shift.
When I am on vacation though…I will usually have 3 fits in a day. One for brunch, one to bop around during the day, and one for the evening to hit up a club or something. 4 fits in a day if there’s a pool or beach involved.
Weekdays it is work stuff until bed. I try to thread the needle by finding comfy work clothes and attending to any evening plans when getting dressed in the morning.
Weekends, I certainly don't have day outfits and night outfits. I do frequently not give a fuck until pretty late in the day, at which point I remove the mismatched gym sweats I wore much of the day to put on something that makes me look vaguely human. Particularly if I will be seeing other humans.
