2 months in, Still no good first layer
I’m truly At a loss with this vcore 4. I have had it for 2 months and I still cannot get a good first layer. I’ve tried what seems like everything. The first layer offset has to be changed every single print. Regardless of how long I’ve heat soaked. I’ve heat soaked for 2 full hours now and I’m still having the same issues as if I heat soaked for 25 minutes. I have been printing a 490x490mm single layer sheet on the bed to get a good idea of how the offset changes throughout a print. The most recent print, I heatsoacked for 2 hours at 80C, then started the 490x490 single layer. It started in the front right corner, I set the x offset, and let it print fully. About 1/4 of the way through its print across the plate, the Z offset seemingly changed and the entire rest of the print was WAY too close to the bed. So much so that I cannot remove the layer that it printed.
I have read the other posts about similar issues but nothing that worked for other people seems to work for me. I have to be missing something. The first

Chamber Temperature Display?
I want to add a temperature sensor so I can heat my chamber to a certain temp before printing. I also want to add an exhaust fan to keep my chamber at a set temperature while printing to prevent jamming in the extruder. I found a little info on the ratos website but I can’t understand how I need to add the code to the cfg file. Also what pins I should use for the temperature sensor and the exhaust fan? I can’t seem to find any info in the discord.

Stepper Driver Overtemp Issue
I’ve been commissioning my VC4 for a few weeks now trying to dial it in. I noticed that the commissioning guide was updated and in it the guide says to turn on performance mode once you’ve determined the machine works properly. When I turned it on, the motors are moving way faster which would be great, but now I’m getting stepper_Z2 over temp errors. Before the z2 error I was getting an x1 error too. What happened? The machine was almost completely commissioned prior to this then when I turned on performance mode, everything got thrown out of wack. Exact message from console TMC ‘stepper_z2’ reports error: DRV_STATUS: 801c0103 otpw=1 (OvertempWarning) ot=1(OvertempError!) t120=1 cs_actual=28 stst=1 I have confirmed that my large single cooling fan is on and blowing the right direction but it’s still overheating the drivers

First layer is going to drive me crazy
I’m dialing in my Vcore 4 500 and I’m having so much trouble with the first layer. These are the steps I’ve been taking. 1. Start print and let nozzle heat soak for 300 seconds via gcode macro 2. Heat bed soaks for 1200 seconds via gcode macro 3. Z calibration and adaptive bed mesh 4. Print blob and begin printing first layer test. 5. Baby step Z offset until good layer. Run the “SAVE_Z_OFFSET” command in the console. 6. Wait for print to finish, then save to config and reset. Then I start the next print which should theoretically have a perfect first layer without having to baby step right?! Nope, I have to adjust it every single time after the previous print. My z offset is changing I know because I don’t have to adjust as much every time as I did the first time, but why is it so drastically different every time? I’m having to +/- .03 every print. I do have automated beacon scan compensation on, and even that isn’t helping. Am I doing something wrong? There must be something that I’m missing.

Can’t figure out how to enable nozzle wipers
Just finished building my v4 500 Hybrid (No hybrid belts installed yet) and I can’t figure out how to enable the nozzle wipers. I’ve been trying to dial in my first layer but I figured the nozzle wipers would have been used before or after printing and they aren’t for some reason. I added the macro in the printer.cfg file to enable it, but it still won’t use the wiper at any point during a print. Any ideas?
