NYC - Best consignment stores/thrift shops to sell shoes to?
Does anyone know of reputable consignment stores/thrift shops in NYC to sell nice sneakers to?
I’m trying to sell off some shoes like CP Achilles Low, Koio Capris, etc. that are barely worn because they didn’t fit me well. I don’t want the headache and risk of trying to sell them on my own so I’m considering consignment stores/thrift shops unless I’ll practically get nothing out of them.

Do raglan sleeves on coats get shortened from the shoulder or the sleeves?
Do raglan sleeves typically get shortened from the sleeve ends or the shoulders? If they’re shortened from the sleeve ends, would it mess things up to re-taper the sleeves after shortening?
I have a coat with raglan sleeves that are a tad bit long. A local seamstress previously shortened sleeves like these from the sleeve ends, but this method widened the sleeve openings which I didn’t like. I suppose I could ask her to re-taper the sleeves after shortening, but I’m willing to pay a little more if there is a better/“proper” way to do this.

Does a buttoned coat vent have any practical purpose?
I have a coat with a back vent that can be buttoned shut. The vent doesn’t go up very high even when unbuttoned.
I understand that vents can help with comfort when sitting, but I personally haven’t noticed any other practical effects of having or lacking a vent (like warmth, ventilation). Is the buttoned vent on a coat generally for providing the wearer with an aesthetic choice, or does it have a practical purpose that I’m just not appreciating? Maybe buttoning it adds a little more splash protection, however small?

Can shortened coat sleeves generally be lengthened back by a bit?
I have a balmacaan coat that I had its sleeves shortened a while ago, but I’m starting to feel that they’re a tad bit too short. The sleeves just about cover my wrist when my arms are down, but ride up more than I’d prefer when I raise my arms. I think I would like the sleeves to extend about an inch and half past my wrist. Like covering a third or half of the back of my hand.
When tailors shorten sleeves, is it common practice to leave enough fabric and lining so that the sleeves can be lengthened back by a bit (like an 1.5 inch or less)? Not a big deal if not, but I was curious if it’s possible to lengthen them a little bit.

Sleeve length alteration for splittable/double-faced wool coat?
I read somewhere that the construction of double-faced wool coats make then harder to do alterations. How much harder is it? For example, is it still within the capabilities of an average dry cleaner seamstress, or is this something that I absolutely should take to a dedicated tailor?
The dry cleaner seamstress has always done a fantastic job with simpler things like hemming pants and shortening suit jacket sleeves with non-functioning buttons. She also generally lets me know if she can’t do something, so I’m not too worried that she’ll take a job she’s not capable of. But it’s a whole trip to get to her so I wanted to see if I can save a long trip.

Do Solovairs squeak on smooth floors like Dr. Martens do?
I’ve read that Solovairs use a different material for their outsole than Dr. Martens. Does that make Solovairs squeak less (or not at all) on smooth floors than Dr. Martens?

Recommendations for chunky black loafers?
https://www.koio.co/products/arezzo-in-nero-mens?variant=42792831385769
Looking for something like this, both in aesthetics and price range (cheaper is good too, as long as quality is there). I actually really like the linked pair of loafers but they’re out of stock right now, so I was wondering if there are other options to explore.

Brands similar to Todd Snyder?
I’ve been buying a lot of stuff from Todd Snyder recently because they hit a good balance of having more interesting colors/patterns and details than J.Crew without being too adventurous for my taste. But I feel like I’ve been limiting myself to this brand because I haven’t found other brands in the same niche.
A quick google search gave me Billy Reid, but I don’t think they’re quite what I’m looking for. Some of the other brands I’ve shopped at in the past are J.Crew, Madewell, Polo Ralph Lauren, Club Monaco (I haven’t bought much from them in the last 6-8 months) and more recently, Alex Mill.
What other brands should I look into?
