Kamakura Shirts Vintage Ivy sizing
TL;DR: do Kamakura shirts run somewhat small to size that I need to size up by half in neck measurement compared to my usual dress shirt size?
I bought a Kamakura Vintage Ivy shirt couple of months ago in the neck same size as my Charles Tyrwhitt dress shirts. The Charles Tyrwhitt shirts fit me pretty well in the neck - not too loose, not too tight.
But the Kamakura shirt in the same neck size actually feels somewhat tight in the neck. It’s not so tight that you can see my neck bulging out of the collar when completely buttoned up, but it’s uncomfortable enough (and it’s not because I hate anything around my neck - I love wearing full suits with ties, etc.). The collar looks a little close to my neck too, although I can still slip my fingers in the collar albeit with a very very small amount of pressure on my fingers. For what it’s worth, the shoulders feel a little awkward as well such that I would just prefer a wider fit for a casual look.
So my question is, do Kamakura Shirts, or at least their Vintage Ivy line, run somewhat small to size so that I need to size up by half in the neck area? Or is it that Charles Tyrwhitt shirts run larger than their purported size? If it’s one or the other, I feel like Kamakura runs smaller because I’ve had good luck buying my Charles Tyrwhitt neck size from other brands.
Would love to hear your thoughts/experience so that my next Kamakura Shirt purchase is a success!

I have a few and yeah they tend to run slim and a little small, especially if you found the ones you already have small i would size up for sure
They have full measurements. If your CT fits better, measure it and compare https://kamakurashirts.com/pages/how-to-measure
