I'm all for the dualrail mod. Keeps consistent Z distance offset. Quality over speed for me.

Hmmm, interesting, maybe the cause of the problem was different for you and me. I've been able to resolve this issue, and am really happy with the top surface I am getting now. I'm not exactly sure what actually fixed the issue, but I added the UHF nut to rapido, then re-tuned the printer, changing temps speeds and EM settings.

I have already installed this mod and glad I did, didn't help here though.

Could increasing speed or acceleration be the cause? This is the 2nd print, the first one completed successfully and one of the few differences was speed and acceleration rates.

For speed, how do you determine which to increase and by much?

I think I'm going to try again with hot end temp raised from 210-220 to 240°C

perhaps the surface has been contaminated in some way or the PEI coating was not applied correctly in this area?

okay, so I've done two tests to confirm this is a not a bed mesh issue and instead something wrong with the surface itself. 1. I increased bed mesh density so that probeing occurs every 10mm, and still got same result. 2. I then went back to regular mesh density and rotated the bed surface 90° so that the problem area was in a different spot (back right instead back left)
