Is there a way to make slightly large shoes fit?
tongue pads are pretty thin, they only make a small difference though they do help. For a half size too big + no option to lace tighter you’ll probably need several of elvander’s suggestions all at once

tshirt discussion
I like having both regular and cropped tshirts so I can get the same proportions whether or not I tuck, so just depends on the look you’re going for and how picky you wanna be. You can also DIY it and just crop a cheap shirt yourself if you wanna try it

OCBD fit check
I got my first vintage brooks brothers off eBay and was so disappointed with the big fit—fits me a lot like yours. Had a moment recently where I realized that it’s like my favorite OCBD now and want my others to fit like that. So an adjustment period might be all it takes! (Or you don’t like billowy shirts and that’s ok too)

MFAD at Work - Topic of the day 12/12/24
I’m an archivist which I guess stylistically should be somewhere between stodgy history professor and librarian. Cardigans are expected but tweed feels like overdoing it, realistically I just need to tuck in a button down shirt and everyone is happy. Starting a new job soon which hopefully will give me more leeway to dress creatively, as my work fits (stuff I post here that is more ivy) isn’t usually how I like to dress at home.

You can really dress down penny loafers a lot with the rest of your fit (baggy jeans, etc.) so as not to look "too old" but something as bold as Docs really swings your fit more casual, which can be cool if you're trying to subvert a dressier fit but its not always gonna work.

If you go for a more traditional loafer then a half strap would be more versatile than the AE you posted. Likewise, you could get the Penton with black stitching if you wanted to tone down the look a little to play nicer with certain office fits, if that's a requirement

Could be perspective of your photos but the model pics look like a higher crop to me. You could try pinning yours up even a little shorter to get closer to that look
