Dressing Your Age - Topic of the day 6/14/24
I think this is true, as is the opposite. A lot of people my age haven’y developed their tastes past what they liked when they were 21 or so, meaning different styles read as being of a different generation (older or younger) to them.

One Year of MFAD - Topic of the day 6/9/24
I also really prefer this format to Reddit, even though I don’t chat much. I’ve learned a ridiculous amount just by tuning in to WAYWT and posting some styling suggestions over the past year. I posted a couple questions towards the end of the subreddit and the vibe was just not great (acknowledging that my questions were surely very half baked as a beginner). I don’t think I would have made the progress I’ve made if I stayed over there. But it’s just felt much easier to participate here and everyone is chill, not disparaging or aggressive. Easier to dip into a convo and not have every utterance subject to an up or down vote. Also I kinda like how everyone doesn’t post brands with their WAYWT, which always felt intimidating to me since plenty of my fits, especially at first, would be like American Eagle | Dockers | Target

Is This Leather Jacket Worth Keeping?
It doesn’t look weird to me fwiw. I like it and think it would be worth trying for a while

Is This Leather Jacket Worth Keeping?
Yeah if it’s free then I’d just hang on to it and play around with it. Lots of pieces feel weird at first but get easier to style as you get more confident.

It's Only Chambray if it's from that region... - Topic of the day 6/4/24
I've wanted a chambray bad but I never find them out in the wild. Seeing how many j crew chambrays there are on ebay I'm surprised I've never found one thrifting

Vegan loafers
I don’t have experience with their loafers but I have a pair of Wills Vegan Shoes ranger boots that are really good. I’ve had them for a few years and the uppers have aged pretty well, much better than other vegan leather I’ve had in the past. I would definitely check out their loafer options if you haven’t.

weird drape on jeans
I’ve had the same thought before, I think it’s just a matter of expectations. Some jeans are slimmer in the top block and thighs and won’t necessarily have that extra fabric, like 501s. Totally valid if that’s what you want, but these don’t look weird at all.

weird drape on jeans
You can see a similar drape on mine here. Just a relaxed fit in the thigh and seat

weird drape on jeans
If the waist fits then that’s just the cut. I don’t think it’s very noticeable and overall I think both pairs look good

3 Season (S/S/F) shoes that are acceptable in Business Casual situations
Sounds like a loafer with a lower profile lug might be the way to go then?

3 Season (S/S/F) shoes that are acceptable in Business Casual situations
I don’t know anything about BR shoes, I don’t assume anything great since they’re not really known for them but maybe someone else could chime in. My Weejuns are kinda my beaters. Bought used for cheap but I love them.

Yeah exactly. I like those a lot but the chunky thing isn’t for everyone. I have regular Bass Weejuns with a leather sole and they’re comfortable but not particularly great for walking a lot in

Shirt Fitting Help
This, and less slim fitting pants (I know you’re not interested but bear with me) will balance better with the looser polo.

I agree with loafers, specifically with a lug sole

Need a bunch of new t shirts for summer, is JCrew still not so great?
Tried a J Crew t last year and it was pretty underwhelming. Depends on your budget but for cheaper options (the price bracket I live in) Uniqlo and Abercrombie are good.
