tshirt discussion
what kind of tshirts do you like to wear in spring/summer? i know the bronson ones are highly recommended along with uniqlo's lineup for budget options. any other suggestions? i was considering the airism one but polyester is frowned upon so now i'm not sure. also not sure if there's a type of tshirt that looks good with generally baggy/oversized jeans

I wish I knew which blanks Story MFG use because I love the cut of their tshirts.
You’re on the money with Bronson. I wear those along with some stupid vintage graphic tees or ones I got from businesses or tattoo artists or sth
Bronson ones may be too heavyweight for summer wear depending where you live
any alternatives to bronson? i like variety lol and 300gsm (from what i can tell) seems heavy
im in los angeles
it can get pretty hot but it's not scalding
I'm not US based so can't really help with any recs outside of uniqlo which you mentioned already. You'll probably get some more recs once more US based people wake up
I love tezomeya shirts in the spring and summer. I can't wear the bronson shirts above 70F personally.
The tezomeya ones are so soft and light. They aren't cheap, but I think the prices are super fair right now for loopwheeled shirts that are naturally dyed
I also have a handful of linen tees I wear often. One from Barena is a favorite of mine but I'm sure there are better budget options
do the tezomeya ones ever go on sale?
Not that I'm aware of. For that tier of t shirts I think it's very fair pricing already though imo, but recognize it's more than a uniqlo or bronson for sure
I also know plenty of people swear by costco 5 packs over anything else for something more budget friendly
but I can't say how "good" they are
oh i have a pack of those kirklands
insanely good
im a bit iffy on uniqlo - somehow the regular ones feel too sandpapery and the airism, i've seen it before, seems to go for a very casual sporty vibe which is fine, but i want to look a bit more well dressed
i think i will buy one tezomeya just to try it
Another option is Whitesville, you can usually find a two (maybe 3 pack I can't remember) for a good price from online retailers/direct from japan
I use velvasheen for layering, very similar to whitesville. They start a bit scratchy but go very soft after a wash or two. Cut is pretty vintage/underwear though (short sleeved, high armholes, fairly short and slim - I size up). Often available in two packs for ok money.
im using kirkland for most layering (i might pick up a bronson or two) but like it's kinda hard to put anything on top during peak/noon hours in la summer
tshirt im seeking would be worn by itself most probably
with some jewelry
i will check out whitesville and velvasheen
Haven't tried them yet, but someone I know swears by Asket. $55 seems a bit much for a T shirt to me, but 🤷♂️
sidebar: is it worth buying cropped tshirts or is it better/easier to just tuck them slightly and get a similar effect
I like having both regular and cropped tshirts so I can get the same proportions whether or not I tuck, so just depends on the look you’re going for and how picky you wanna be. You can also DIY it and just crop a cheap shirt yourself if you wanna try it
Kind of pricey but I like my whitesville tees. I would size up though
Oh I see those were mentioned already my b
kirkland blanks
or whatever graphic tee catches my fancy when thrifting/at the flea/looking at inspo pics
Deadstock military surplus is where it’s at
Cheap, wicking, last a decent amount of time
My default is the Uniqlo supima tee. But because I like having some colorful tees, I also buy from J. Crew, whenever I see an interesting color on sale. And, for travel, I have a 100% synthetic tee from Uniqlo and some merino tees from SmartWool.
Regarding Airism, I thought this video was really interesting, and convinced me it's not as simple as "synthetics bad": https://youtu.be/EYunwVfs88k
