Distant horizons doesn't load LOD chunks
depending on what hardware you have, loading can take forever to do passively. I have a terrible PC so i opted to use a pre-gen mod (Chunky). all i had to do was load into a new world with LODs enabled, and then start a chunky generation (radius of 2500 [156 render dis] took about 1 hour to generate).

That's what I was thinking to but if I use chunky to pregenetate all the chunks I'm going to use then dh won't need to do any generating of it's own, we'll see though I haven't tested fully

I found the issue. You just have to disable distant generation. Not sure why that is but it worked for me!
