this exact thing (exact symptom, anyway) happened to me the first time i installed bazzite on a second drive... the TLDR was a microcode issue with my WiFi driver; the fix ended up being simple, it just took me forever to realise 'intel killer wifi' devices have completely model names if used for linux, which makes TOTAL sense

UPDATE: dont wanna jinx it, but i'm now successfully reaching the desktop after rolling back to the first bazzite 41 release (which was working for me initially) and running rpm-ostree reset from grub

anyway i still have the same problem as unclesam, but the complete opposite; cuz when i have managed to boot into b41 i havent been able to switch back to x11 - so i havent been able to confirm if wayland has anything do with my problem...

BUT - RE: the bazzite 41 black screen issue i referenced yesterday - despite being totally unrelated to unclesam's issue - i think i spoke too soon; bc while i was able to access the desktop, the gaming performance was unplayable, which turned out to be irrelevant for the time being as the 'noapic' option only worked the one time

RE: bazzite 41 black screen boot issue - not sure if this is the correct thread to post this, but appending 'noapic' to boot params solved bazzite 41 booting into a black screen for me. (if reading that makes no sense: press 'e' on highlighted 41 build in grub menu, find the line of text that starts with 'linux'; add 'noapic' to the end of said line; don't use 'quotes')

Sleep issue in plasma desktop

i may be in the wrong thread/have another issue as updating results in bazzite 41 which produces a black screen after initial login/sddm at which point the entire system is unusable. atm i am rolled back to 40; which is unfortunate as i was enjoying 41 while it was working

41 worked for me until a day or two ago; now its just a black screen after SDDM/login ... wish i could be of some help; looking for an answer for this myself

yes - that works - also, as far as apps with GUI are concerned, i'm able to view available updates, update all, install/uninstall alla Discover-style with the "Software" app I only just today learned existed in the handful of default apps installed with Bazzite. I've been just using terminal and doing everything manually in the meantime; it appears that nothing but Discover is misbehaving

something strange just happened, hopefully a clue? when running plasma-discover just now, Discover opened for the first time since this started happening a few days ago - albeit with the lack of any revealing the availability of any updates. I ran the same command about an hour ago, and it didnt work. BUT - I closed Discover, and ran it again, and got the failure I've been seeing consistently until the single aberration just now. But here is the first output from termimal, when Discover opened:
