Consistent way to share videos on local network

Hiya, I'm pretty new to the whole Linux distributions but I'm willing to learn... My main issue is finding a consistent analog to media server sharing like the one in Windows that can create a folder in VLC local net that is UPNP... I've tried setting up a shared folder in Bazzite using samba and thus creating a SMB kind of connection but It seems I can't for the life of me log into the folder I've created. Is there another way that is Bazzite friendly? I apologize in advance if I've made myself not clear, English is like my third language and I'm pretty much a noob at Linux and Fedora like distros

You could make a Samba share that you can access from Windows and other devices. Instructions here https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1307745174331457677/1307768351941984296
