DLSS Frame Gen

I read on the valve/proton git that dlss frame gen is enabled in current versions of proton, and various distros claim it to be functioning - am i missing something, or is this not a thing in b41?

We have no say in this working or not working, we ship the latest Nvidia driver that's available and from that point anything that may or may not use it is up to you My understanding is that it should work with the patched copy of proton as you've already pointed out

Works with Proton Experimental and Proton 9.0-4. Proton GE 21 should have it too.

strange - dlss works great on b41, just not frame gen. same card, windows 11, it works. what caught my eye was typically it would be greyed out/unavailable on unsupported cards; but the option isnt even there

Are you running the games via Gamescope? If you are you may need to put SteamDeck=0 %command% in the game launch options so that it doesn’t g think it’s a steam deck and disable the nvidia API stuff

sorry for delayed response; multiple major holidays managed to coalesce into a massive multi-holiday blob - sry tmi - BUT to answer ur q: yes gamescope; infrequently. on the games in question i only ran gamescope after finding the frame gen issue. so u may be on to something with SteamDeck=0 as i am on desktop and have not tried that one other odd detail i've since found - frame gen appears to be functional in a couple games (where frame gen would not be of use, unfortunately). so my frame gen issue is game specific; but it functioning is an outlier.
