Chicago Area Tux Rentals
Hi all,
Seeking advice as I look for a tux rental in the Chicago area for an upcoming wedding. Details as follows:
Black tie dress code, I’m a groomsman and the ask was for a classic black tux with satin lapels. No stated preference for fit, although I’d aim for something traditional vs slimmer modern suits. I’ll need the tux jacket/pants, a white shirt, and patent leather shoes or similar, but accessories (bow tie, cuff links, shirt studs etc) will be provided. I’ve had some ebay searches open to potentially purchase secondhand but no luck so far, and with the wedding approaching (second week of June) I figure I should get rolling with a rental, as I don’t expect to need black tie attire often. Budget wise I am flexible and also uncertain on costing of rentals vs purchasing, would like to keep it under $3-400 or so.
Thanks in advance for your help!

European vintage workwear/military surplus for Americans
Interested in where everyone purchases vintage workwear and surplus that's European specific, especially options within the US. I'm looking for stuff like French blue chore jackets or pants, cool camo patterns (German and Swiss stand out), liner jackets, moleskin work pants, fatigues, etc.
Preference for vintage but if there's a euro-style Bronson for repros I'd check that out as well. Price range up to $150 or so per item, but would prefer the lower end - I've found overseas shipping from EU to Chicago is $30-40 and adds up! Bonus for local options to Chicago, or at least items that ship within the US to keep shipping reasonable. So far I've been browsing Etsy which is pretty curated, here's a few specific items I've saved: https://www.etsy.com/people/samgriffin7/favorites/vintage

New Orleans recommendations
Recommendations for New Orleans for the next week or so? Staying in the Central City/Garden District area, open to clothing, vintage shopping, food, music, or just general attractions. Bonus points if accessible by public transit or a healthy walk!

Removing unknown ink from suede
Vintage GATs showed up today and they’re in good shape, basically unused, with the exception of a dark ink mark on the suede of both toecaps. Normally I’d ask to swap but they were listed as B-grade. That said, any ideas on how to get this (pen? Sharpie?) ink off without totally ruining grey suede? I’ve got a suede eraser to reset it after, but hoping to remove the mark while keeping the suede’s color. Cheers!

GAT recommendations?
Recommendations on GATs? First instinct was secondhand vintage - these https://www.etsy.com/listing/1581030606/german-army-trainers-original-grade1-gat?ref=cart are the cheapest pair I could find shipped (I'm in Chicago so less supply vs. the EU folks) - with tax and $28 shipping from France it comes to $88, and a lightly used pair at that. For that price I'd be inclined to lowball on a new pair of Adidas BW on Stockx -https://stockx.com/adidas-bw-army-footwear-white, they're not available retail anywhere and would likely come to ~$110 shipped for a modern, unused pair with a decent insole. Any other recommendations in the sub $150 price range? I've seen Beckett Simonon and Oliver Cabell recommended as well but no real experience there. As mentioned, located in Chicago so open to local recommendations (especially cheap surplus to avoid the shipping - $50 shoes and $30 shipping hurts my soul) or buying online, hoping to wear as a spring/summer shoe but not opposed to waiting for a sale. Typically wear a US size 9.5, aiming for something comfortable and classic looking - white/cream with grey suede, gum outsole, minimal branding.
