Removing unknown ink from suede

Vintage GATs showed up today and they’re in good shape, basically unused, with the exception of a dark ink mark on the suede of both toecaps. Normally I’d ask to swap but they were listed as B-grade. That said, any ideas on how to get this (pen? Sharpie?) ink off without totally ruining grey suede? I’ve got a suede eraser to reset it after, but hoping to remove the mark while keeping the suede’s color. Cheers!

i've had a little success with isopropyl alcohol on leather, but you gotta be extremely careful not to smear it and not let it sit for too long. would use a qtip to apply and clean wet cloth to dab it off, then repeat. slow and gentle.

I always work my way up as well. Try an eraser first (it likely won’t work) but you never know Also it looks like sharpie to me. I’d consider just accepting it tbh

Started with the eraser which worked on most of the left shoe (second pic) but didn’t help much on the right one, so I used a multipurpose suede cleaner and then eraser and both look much better. The right one is still noticeable but only if you’re looking for it, which is better than I was hoping for tbh. Thanks for the advice!
