Orthopedic Leather Shoes/Boots
My uncle has asked for my help with finding orthopedic leather shoes that don't look...well...orthopedic.
His 2 musts are that the toe box has to be wide and it has to have a removable insole. Rubber outsoles are a plus but not a requirement.
His budget is under $400. He hasn't been as helpful as I'd like narrowing down the style he wants, but he will be looking for more casual options like penny loafers, mocs, casual oxfords, or some kind of boot. My plan is to find specific shoes that check his boxes and ask him to pick between them.
Brands I've found that could work:
Allen Edmonds
Cole Haan
Johnston and Murphy
Dr. Martens
Samuel Hubbard
I know the first 4 brands all come recommended with reservations on here, and I feel comfortable explaining the pros and cons of all of them to him.
Does anyone here have experience with Samuel Hubbard? For an explicitly orthopedic shoe brand their shoes look actually pretty decent in pictures, but I can't tell how the leather quality and construction are.
Also, are any other brands I should be looking at?

Dr. Martens Oxford fit
I bought some 8053's in my normal size (US 14) and my heels kept slipping out of the shoe.
Then I exchanged them for a size down (US 13) thinking they might just run large. My big toe was hitting the front when I walked so it was definitely too small and I don't think that will fix when the leather stretches out.
Is this a normal issue with Docs? I've never owned any before, but does anyone know whether other models have the same issue before I try to exchange these for a different model?
