So I got one of the DBF Artist Shirts in cotton voile, that’s real nice! I can only recommend it.
Also some seersucker in varying degrees of craziness, madras both patchwork and not.
Also twiggy and I have matching camp collar shirts and I think that’ll be the move for all the wife guys out there!

What kind of jacket do you wear over a jacket
Pretty much any kind of coat. Classically anything with a length longer than your blazer is preferred.
So cold weather options would include any kind of overcoat really (Balmacaan, Dufflecoat, Greatcoat etc.).
Warmer weather options would be Macs, Trenchcoats etc.
You can really just pick anything that fits over your blazer. Parkas (thin or thick), M65 type jackets both work. Barbour jackets work. You got tons of options.

Do I take the tight shoulders just to have sleeves that aren't long?
You don’t even have to get the sleeves hemmed. If it’s just a bit too long you can get the cuff button moved (or diy that) so it won’t slip over your wrist.

Removing Intimidation From Fashion - Topic of the day 4/15/25
While I don’t share many of the experiences that many of you have I do maybe have something to say about using fashion as a way to remove intimidation from other things.
That’s where most of my style comes from- trying to fit in with a more academic/higher socioeconomic status crowd and removing the hierarchy of dress that seemed to be prevalent in school and university where I studied. This has worked in boosting my confidence in kind of a circular way where I grew more comfortable with my new-ish environment as well as with the way I was dressing to fit into it - up to the point where I now have taken it and made it my own.

Plaids and Tartans are cool and there’s plenty of neutral ones anyone can use for their garments and they’re mostly very fun - though I admit I don’t necessarily look up any old plaid item I buy if it’s a family tartan. How would I even do that?
Blackwatch was very in for a while there too iirc.

It’s okay to buy something - even something expensive - singularly for the reason that you like it. There’s no need to pretend “it’s an investment”, because it really isn’t in reality.

Cool, never thought of that as an accessory because I usually got a pen clipped to somewhere during work, but it’s a neat perspective on that.
My fountain pen looks like a cigar/vibrator though so I could never lol
