I need basic advice for how to choose outfits/colors.
You can try starting with something in between your current style and something hard and sophisticated. Try replacing your graphic tee with something blank and with good material and siluette. Since idk your body type, I'd suggest what I like. Try boxed fit for tees(they are kinda like oversize, but cropped to your waist line), try Uniqlo or Zara (on the cheaper side and not the worst quality, esp Uniqlo)
Sport shorts can be replaced with linen shorts or pants.
Black jeans can be replaced with classic fit jeans(not too wide and not the skinny/slim ones), chinos (navy blue, olive, khaki, beige. Not black)
After you get used to that, you can start experimenting.
Try looking for it on TikTok or YT, after some time you'll notice that you understand your taste a bit better.
Don't use ”old money" term, some people here don't like it and there's a discussion somewhere

yeah, i'll probably wear them only a few times, when there be an occasion to get into something on the smart/"fancy" side

yikes, first time hearing that. For me it's just basically a vibe of the other side of new money, which is the same kinda fany rich style but flashy and cringy in some places (IMO)
Minimalism feels different tho, but yeah ok i'll avoid that lol

eng is not my 1st language, so it's kinda easier for me to use words that come first to my mind and the "vibe" that people call "old money" for me is just the vibe of smartly dressed, but not flashy, that's why i mentioned it lol
