What shoe i should get to pair with those pants?

Hi, so i got those linen pants and a navy blue chinos, but i don't have a shoe to wear with it. I've been wearing mostly sneakers for my whole life so idk nothing about other shoes. I need something that would look nice, with those pants and a shirt, basically summer/old money/above casual style and it should be on the more breathable side (I plan on wearing it on my Georgia trip, and it would be very hot in there). I live in EU, i can get stuff from local shops or Zalando/amazon/etc. I also added few pics of me trying boat shoes i took yesterday. Idk about it, the shoe type seems like it would look ok, but it seems like the canvas one looks too vans-like and the leather one has blue midsole which i don't particularly like. Feel free to recommend me anything, but pls include reference pictured so i can understand what it should look like. Thanks in advance!

Depending on the occasion there's nothing wrong with sneakers, but smart shoe - sneaker hybrids are normally worth staying away from. Personally I like the jack and Jones ones you posted. Consider leather sandals if its for hot weather? For a smarter look, well made leather shoes are the best option

i hasten to lump together 'above casual' (formality) and 'old money' ("style" definition that is meaningless as noted here https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1250117343493754963) loafers would be my pick; the color will depend on your preference but brown seems like an easy fit. blucher mocs are more casual https://www.ghbass.com/mens-ranger-super-lug-camp-moc-baz2m409 while penny loafers or similar are more formal https://www.ghbass.com/1876-larson-weejun-baz3w484 there's plenty of variations within those and plenty of brands that sell both; #fashion-guides has a few articles about them https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/how-to-talk-about-loafers https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/lots-of-mocs-guide-and-inspiration https://malefashionadvice.substack.com/p/penny-loafer-buying-guide meermin might be one to look at; they're not as expensive as their counterparts but still good quality and in the EU

eng is not my 1st language, so it's kinda easier for me to use words that come first to my mind and the "vibe" that people call "old money" for me is just the vibe of smartly dressed, but not flashy, that's why i mentioned it lol thanks, i'll look into it

"Old money" has a lot of racist and classist connotations in English, just so you're aware. Try "minimalism" or "quiet luxury" for similar vibes.

yikes, first time hearing that. For me it's just basically a vibe of the other side of new money, which is the same kinda fany rich style but flashy and cringy in some places (IMO) Minimalism feels different tho, but yeah ok i'll avoid that lol

"New/old money" is fundamentally rooted in ideas around "which type of people deserve access to what amount of wealth." It's unfortunate that both terms have gained popularity in the last few years, but these things happen. To your question, zeo covered everything super well, I'd just add that I'd recommend loafers to hit those summer vibes you're looking for.

navy pants my brain gave me an image, said pants, a plain t shirt, cardigan(knit type or that thick dry clean cotton feeling fabric) and then sneakers for a cozy casual look
