shoes to wear with a dressy suit that aren't boring
Both shoes are dope, but the longwing blucher looks too casual for a dressy suit to me.

what loafers would best suit my needs?
Were way darker than I expected based on online photos, so I’m returning. Going to try the rancourt pinch pennies next.

I have a pretty simple style. For Summer, I will go:
Shoes: Low-top off-white canvas sneakers, Club C’s, Astorflex patnoflex loafers in nubuck
Pants: Five-pocket pants or chino shorts in Navy, Olive, Khaki
T-Shirt: Slightly oversized, flowy lightweight T-shirts. Still look relatively fitted since light-weight t-shirts seem to drape back towards the body more. Typically white/grey/olive with dark pants or navy with khakis.
Buttoned shirts: Either heavily textured (e.g. linen, seersucker, ) and/or flowy, so they are clearly meant to be casual and untucked. I usually stick to solid colors, mix in some brighter shades. Lots of Short-sleeves.
Accessories: I am way too into watches and sunglasses. Usually SPB143 on gray rubber Nato, Rolex OP 36 on metal bracelet, or vintage watch depending on setting. Sunglasses are a pretty easy place to go a little more wild with more out there shapes/colors. Sunglasses in front shirt pocket are just casual pocket squares but better. Dad hats occasionally.
For Winter:
Shoes: Chunky chelsea boots, Club C’s, plain toe derbies
Pants: Five-pocket pants in Navy, Olive, Khaki
T-Shirt: I often go heavily textured (e.g. thermals, etc.), substantial, and boxy. Often big enough to have a drop shoulder. My most-worn shirts by far are the field spec rugby crews and rugby polos from Buck Mason that are borderline sweatshirts. Also some normal heavyweight t-shirts as base layer. I wear too much gray on top.
Buttoned shirts: Flannel, Denim, corduroy, or Oxford Cloth Button Downs. Classic Fit. Not too slim and not boxy.
Outerwear: I’m in TX, so don’t need a ton of layers usually. Lots of crew neck sweaters/sweatshirts. Corduroy shirt jacket, wool quarter zip, hunting jacket, black patagonia nano-puff.
Accessories: More watches on leather bands than in summer. More subdued sunglasses than in summer. Sometimes, wool socks that show. Hats occasionally.

Are camp mocs still cool?
They are not the most on-trend shoe, but I wear them regularly for the reasons you mentioned. It's the easiest pair of shoes to just leave by the door to throw on quickly.

I have actually started to prefer a little bit longer shirts for untucked wear and longer T-shirts as well.

My favorite linen shirt that I own is from Portuguese flannel. I would recommend sizing up there too.

Alex Crane has a thicker one with nice material, but the fit was too tight even sizing up.

I am in same boat. Looking to find a thicker white one, since the thinner ones are too see through

Do people care if men wear necklaces?
All of the people I know with great style continue to wear the stuff they like even when they know an item is polarizing or a lot of other people don’t like it.

Levi’s has so many fits, it’s probably the best store to go back to and just try on a bunch or head to a vintage store with a bunch of old Levi’s

Straight Fit Chinos/Jeans for Big Thighs
I think there’s a regional thing that this sub overlooks. There is ~no one over the age of 25 where I live wearing anything other than slim fits (except those wearing extremely loose fits and not in a stylish way). To be clear, I also specifically don’t like a taper, but I also think there is a point where it gets too wide at the bottom. Like 501s look fine to me, but when I sized up a couple sizes to fit my thighs, it looked like I was going for a totally different style than the one I’m going for.

Yeah I guess I’m just frustrated because I’m spending an exorbitant amount of time on online returns right now and still don’t have pants to wear haha.

I don’t think there are many if any options of pants with loose top block and opening between 7.5” and 8”

Personally, think 8.5” starts to look like I’m cosplaying someone 10 years younger than me, and all the athletic tapers look silly with them tapering all the way down to the same opening as a slim. Tailoring might be my only option, and I’m not even that ripped haha

Moonstar sizing
I tried on the Buck Mason deck shoes in store, and I'd go a full size down in those. I usually wear a 10, and there was still a little room in the 9.
