Founded in 2016 by Samuel Wei and Daniel Gu, MotivMfg is an independent design and production studio with an aim to create clothing stemmed in tradition but made for the future. Through constant research into garment making techniques of tailoring and workwear traditions, we at MotivMfg seek to distill the human elements of these methods to make clothing that are not merely “reproductions” but “recreations”, clothing that interact with the present-day wearer’s body and their environment in distinct ways.
All MotivMfg garments are made by our own small production team on our own premise in Beijing. Through our unique mix of talented craftspeople and equipment, we are able to produce clothes that combine tailored anatomic shapes and industrial sewing details, something simply unattainable under large scale industrial settings....

Got a Plage coat from this brand in another server, and have really enjoyed all of the product shots of their shirting. Anybody else have any experience with the brand?

I really love their design. Clean scandinavian design with some fun accents. My only worry is their use of synthetic materials. Does anyone have any experience with their quality?

Curious if anyone has firsthand experience with this brand, specifically the Chelseas. Was considering them as an alternative to Blundstones. Reviews seem good from a practical standpoint, but at certain angles the toes seem really wide.

Didn't see a thread for them, but they just released their new FW23. Curious to hear everyone's experience with their garments. https://universalworks.co.uk/
Solovair
UK-made leather boots and shoes company. Claims to be a former manufacturer of a portion of Doc Martens back in the 1950’s.
Curious if anyone owns any of their shoes and how their products might hold up over time....

What are the community’s thoughts on this brand? I’ve purchased some of their stuff with mixed results. Their shirting is pretty terrible usually, but when I can snag their outerwear on sale I find it’s pretty nice. I have a few chore coats and Tupelo truckers that I throw on when I’m going for a more low key but put together vibe in the fall.
