I have their mohair blend secret lover in blue, and it's amazing. It's a thin sweater, which I like for layering, and it's a surprisingly high mohair content for the price. The shade of blue is nice and deep as well.

I've picked up a couple of sweaters online secondhand and had to resell both. They were both too slim. Hard to tell if the sweaters ran small or if the previous owners shrank them in the wash, but they didn't otherwise seem misshapen or in bad condition.

I've always had to size up with my Howlin' sweaters. They do fit a little snug if you try to wear your normal size. Makes it difficult to wear something like a button-down under them.

Harley has a direct sale site for their Shetlands, and they're way cheaper. I also have a Jamieson's, and their Shetlands are scratchy but the colors are amazing and I love the saddle shoulder style. Fit isn't as slim, easier to layer over larger clothing

Which one is it that will brush it for you

And yeah, howlin's sweaters are slimmer fit, but I like to wear them over just a long sleeve T-shirt that works out well for me with being able to layer more clothes over them I think Harley will brush it for you for an extra $10-20

Yeah I usually go with the long sleeve tee as well. I just like the feeling of wearing a c h u n k y sweater

Hijacking the Howlin thread to turn it into a Harley thread lmao

Yeah I wouldn't go for howlin' if I wanted a chunky sweater personally, probably would go with an Irish or Japanese sweater maker instead I mean, you could always create a Harley thread lol, unless you just really wanna mutiny

Yeah the only thing from Howlin' that works chunky is their cable knits. I think almost every other piece is naturally slim and feels intended to be worn as a base apart from a tee undershirt. Although my cable knit from theirs is probably like 5 years old at this point, so I'm not sure if they've changed their fitting on them since. But yeah, usually I'd find something on Aran for an actual chunky sweater

Does anyone know the difference between the Terry and Birth of the Cool styles?
Mooses

terry's use a melange wool that gives them a texture/donegal effect whereas botc has a brushed virgin merino wool and looks "hairier"/fluffier and the color is mostly homogenous. the fit should be identical. i only own botc from them, i don't actually have a terry surprisingly. someone with more knitwear knowledge could probably explain it in more detail, but that's my high-level understanding

Are the Birth of the Cool sweaters brushed or are they like the stock Harley sweaters without brushing? Hard to tell

Birth of the Cool is brushed to my knowledge I just got a Shaggy Bear from them in the winter sale, which is double brushed. Very excited to try it
