Don't own any of their shoes but in general I've read positive comments of their product
They are more on the formal side tho
I have liked everything ive owned from them
@pumaturtle pls weigh in
They coo
they're pretty narrow fyi
Yeah, very euro. Use good upper leathers but the designs and lasts aren’t particularly inspired - still good for the price and I like the 4 or so pairs of theirs I’ve gotten
I have loafers from them. They're good for the price like jarmul said - I have a little bit narrow foot so that was nice. I sized down half size fwiw
Boots stay tts and loafers do half down
I daily drive their loafers and regularly receive tons of compliments
I have a pair of their loafers. They are very comfy. They are also quite dressy, and maybe less versatile than American styling.
I have 2 pairs of loafers (1 suede, 1 leather). I find them both casual, comfortable. They're the same size, but they don't fit the same. I have a belt from them too, but it wasn't the size I expected. That's made me hesitate getting more, but I do need another pair of shoes.
Meermin is the most consistent at actually good patterns for classic shoes out of any of the budget brands.
I have a few things Meermin and I like them! I have polo suede split toes that are a bit fancy as mentioned above, though I still wear with everything from fatigues to wool pants.
Break-in can take a bit, but the oxfords I got for my wedding were ready to go after about 6 dance classes in them (and thicker socks).
If I've got wide feet, would Meermin be a bad option? Any recommendations of similar-ish shoes that would work better for wide feet?
What styles do you like? If you’re in NYC you can hit up their store and try stuff on
San Antonio, TX. More the land of cowboy boots. But as a general rule, I like broguing and wingtip style shoes. Probably would be more likely to wear a derby style versus an oxford style.
Grant stone in a similar price range or Alden used. Alden new if you’re looking to spend
Figure out your brannock size tho and then search around/ask for sizing advice for specific shoes/models
Those brands are both more “American” in style but wingtip bluchers I think do much better in the rounder American style anyway
They have a bunch of models made in wide fit, and some of their lasts (Rui, Hok) run wide. They have specific size charts, measured to the millimeter, if you ask them
I purchased a pair of loafers over the summer. After two wears, the sole started coming apart. I emailed them, they asked for a photo. Within an hour they responded with an apology and let me know a new pair was on the way. I was really impressed by that.
I recently got the superbuck unlined penny loafers in dark brown.
I ordered both an UK10,5 and an UK11, with UK11 being my regular size. The UK 10,5 were to small so I returned them, the 11s require me to use shoehorns to get into, but once I have them on they fit really well with absolutely minimal heel slippage. They have a roughed-out heel counter on the inside which provides a bit of extra grip. I usually sit between 10,5 and 11 depending on shoe width, because my feet are a bit wider than average. I have not worn them as much as I would have liked yet so they are propably not completely worn in yet, though I have to say their promises of a quick wearing-in process with that model seem to hold so far. I find them quite comfortable
I was thinking about getting a pair of boots from them this fall/winter and was thinking about ordering 11 and 11,5 for that and see which one fits, because you tend to wear bigger socks in boots etc. But then again perhaps a dark brown pair of cowboy boots might be higher on the list. Or i just chill and see what the tides of thrifting bring in in that regard.
