Lands End is the sole reason I can find tall clothes that are actually tall and affordable. Just for that 10/10
is it just me or did they fall off in a big way after they got bought by sears?
I've got nothing to compare it to, but that is what I've heard people say
They spun off from Sears in like 2014 didn't they?
oh yeah, I guess so, I didn't know that, I knew that they closed the mini-lands-end stores inside sears
I will say my only major gripe with them is that brand-wise, the clothes they offer seem kind of, unfocused?
But considering they offer extensive tall sizing and 100% cotton on basically everything, I can’t really be all too picky
I have only gotten flannel shirts from them, but they have some of the better flannels for the price
The flannel shirts are really good for what you pay for
Had some credit and picked up a couple of shirts that arrived today - the https://www.landsend.com/products/mens-no-iron-twill-shirt/id_259676? seems pretty nice (but I need to go get it tailored a bit)
(Got the deep balsalm multi check)
Didn't they close everything inside Sears?
I haven't ordered from them in 6-7 years so idk how their quality is now. But when I had ordered from them before I felt like everything was good for the price.
Aesthetically they're very "Your dad's friend." They're good for basics but you should be picky with what you order bc some of their stuff looks pretty lame
I’m pretty sure their average demographic is over the age of 65 😂
That just means it's "retro" 😉
I love me some retro, but something about seeing them advertise machine-washable suit jackets just screams "old man" to me
Yeah, their stuff falls on the line of cool/trendy “old guy” stuff, and stuff you’d actually see in a retirement home
Like they’ll hit 70% of the way to a cool garment, and then bust out the awful synthetic blend and give up on having any sort of good silhouette
Two questions (and hence maybe better suited for #questions-and-advice ?)
I am considering the Sail Rigger OCBD shirts, but I cant really tell what the difference in dimensions are between traditional and tailored.
Theres a question thread discussing this but nobody really gave a direct answer (plus the original messages were deleted). Just interested in what people who own these shirts think.

Secondly. How do people like the pants from Lands End? I am considering the Relaxed Fit Pleated Knockabout Chino Pants as a cheaper alternative to the J Crew Classic Chinos.
The Knockabout Chinos are good value when 50% off. I find the current iteration. The pockets are shallow and they can stain a bit easily. Like most brands quality has declined over the years, these used to be awesome quality for the dollar years ago. Still recommend tho today for the price! I really like the current cargos if those suit your fancy.
I own a ton of various OCBDs. Sail Rigger is solid. Mine fit a bit tighter than I prefer but a big guy. Can't recall what fit I have. I like the Charles Tyrwhit better at 3/$99 - cheaper and better quality at least they were last year.
Thanks that was exactly the info I was looking for
I did my quarterly online walkthrough of what Lands’ End is selling in tall sizes and came across this gem

Also, just so you know, Lands’ End has fairly detailed measurement sizes on their clothes but its sort of hidden. This works on mobile and desktop

For me, vintage LE OCBDs are great, but the collar has shrank on the modern ones. For the price, you're better off getting an oxford from Spier&Mackay. You'll pay a little bit more but the increase in quality, attention to detail, better fit options and diversity of fabrics offered make the price more than worth it IMHO
