Wrangler good
Just ordered a pair of the original cowboy cut jeans. They come in tomorrow. Will update. I used to wear these exclusively in high school. Time to see if they still hold up.
Hell yeah. They are by far my most worn jeans. I think its wild how poorly they are styled on the wrangler website though lmao
Update: The Wranglers are perfect. Will try to post a photo at some point!
Please do!
Anyone in Europe know where we can get the real wrangler cowboy cut over here? I think most European sellers have different wranglers altogether, made under license I think?
im in aus and i got mine shipped via sheplers. do they ship to eu?
looks darn good, pardner
@Big Thicc assumed with import etc would push the price up a lot, but it's only 66 euro all in. That's pretty reasonable. Thanks for the tip
@Big Thicc or it adds 18 to the price anyway, just looking at the options now
yeah i feel you, i think in total it was 80s dollars for my 13mwz's. excluding shipping they were 49 dollars from memory
I think the shepler site doesn't list them as original fit, they list them as smth else. but the style code is the same
and i emailed them and they said they were the original fits
Yeah. I'm always jealous of the Americans getting this kind of stuff at great prices
yeah right
apparently you can get them for like 30 - 40 dollars at some place called boot barn
i believe this is the pair i got, think they were actually on sale too, tho.
as i said they have the same style code as the 13mwz original fits (from memory, it's been a couple of weeks)
id email to make sure tho
think a lot of places dont list them as original fit, which might be why stores seem to have different wranglers in europe?
@Big Thicc just bought some 501s 54 fit (still trying to decide which pair to keep, got in two sizes), so I shouldn't buy any more jeans for at least a week or two, but I'll be trying these next
Counterpoint: Wrangler very good
ahhh smart smart. I need to declutter my wardrobe. but yeah no, that's a good idea. it takes a bit for them to break in and shrink to size properly. they sit a lil goofy for a while if you get the rigids
@Big Thicc not the rigid, so not sure how much to account for a bit of shrinkage/softening. Honestly I love jeans, hate buying them, never end up happy
i understand the struggle. i love jeans too, especially how they look on other people, but it took me a bit to find ones that i liked on me
So I'm going order myself some cowboy cut rigid, but not sure on the size. I've a belly, and dress pants size usually 34 to 36 waist, jeans 32 to 34. Should I size up?
they run true to size, they'll be a bit bigger before you wash them as they shrink (they're meant to)
im a waist size 32, i got a 31 because i wanted it to be a bit tighter
i wouldnt go off the size of other jeans bc most brands aren't true to size. best way is to measure your natural waist (halfway between the bottom of your ribs and the top of your hips) and order that size. if you're a 34 waist then id go with either 34 or 33 if you want to be a bit tighter
also, it's a garment that'll shrink over time, and mold to your body. it flares out slightly below the knees as the cowboy cuts are a bootcut, so there'll always be space there, but over time the thighs will get tigher
but! it can take time, and it can look pre frumpy before then. and i mean a decent amount of time, like 6 months of wear and washing
so be mindful of that. also you are meant to wash them frequently, otherwise they'll always be frumpy. and youre meant to wash on hot the first three times and tumble dry to get them into shape
also have a geeze at the other cowboy cuts, the rigid 936DENs the 13MWZs and whatever the relaxed fit is
but yeah. i have heard they can be expensive ship to europe, so definitely have a look at all the others before you buy
can send pics maybe tomorrow or the day after of my ones
one last thing, the 13mwz's are a high rise jean so they will sit higher than most modern jeans.
sorry for info spam. this is basically everythinf i learnt about them. was a hard time finding the info bc a lot of denim heads have some very odd and honestly archaic rules about denim at times, and the people who just regularly buy wrangler aren't writing in denim subreddits and forums
Not spam at all, good info. Ordered 34/32, found on amazon for 50 euro, should be here tomorrow or Monday. Will report back then
awesome! and the thing is, even if you dont likenthe cut of them, you can just use them as jeans for yard work and chores. they're meant to take a beating and will last you years
theyre workwear jeans that some of us jean nerds grew fond of
i took them for exploring and hiking in rural australia recently and they were fantastic
took a quick shitty mirror selfie bc im about to go out, but this is how im wearing mine atm
think this is month of wear
Great look, I like the jacket
And the shirt
tyvm! the jacket is a 60s levi's big E suede trucker jacket that i lucked out on finding at a vintage store for an actual decent price ($80)
and shirt is likenthis cuban collar from a local brand called handsom
Thanks! Loving the Cuban collar and jacket with the jeans btw. I'll post another photo after a bit more wear to show if they maintain their fit. I never let any of my pants or shirts run through a machine dryer so I'm hoping they will maintain the fit and the size and not shrink too much.
Hope they do shrink a bit
They will if you wash them hot. I wash mine at 30C and they did not shrink at all.
Expected them to be longer- their website says they're longer than the tag says to account for shrinkage, but these measure 32 inch as is. Guess I'll see how they go, planning to follow the inside tag instructions and hot wash them, hope they turn out well
it will take about 3 washes on hot to shrink em to the correct measurements you ordered
usually. it's quite odd that theyre measurinf 32 inches pre shrunk
if youre worried you could email the retailer you bought them off
tumble dry aswell.
and supposedly they'll continue to shrink over the life of the garment, and mold to your body
these are some rigids 13mwz compared to a 4 year old pair with 10 - 15 washes
for reference to see how much theyll shrink over time
Amazon returns here are a hassle, so not sure I'll go though it, but those pictures worry me - pretty significantly shorter
Well, they refunded me without wanting them returned, and the price has dropped to 30 euro, so I'm going get a 34 length and see how they go
that's good. they should be about 2 inches longer than the actual measurement to account for shrinkage
Yeah, it worked out OK. Someone in my local charity shop will get some brand new jeans đź‘–
hell yeah sweet. always a good outcome. shame they came essentially defected tho
i think wrangler can suffer the same issue as levis jeans with the inconsistent sizing. i believe the cut the jeans in big stacks, and the further down you go, the more inaccuracies.
im not sure it is as egregious as levi's as i havent heard it happening anywhere near as much but clearly still an issue
thanks! im keen to see how yours turn out
@Big Thicc yeah, I'd heard similar. Happy now, will have the new ones in a couple of days
Definitely not as baggy, didn't lose any length at all, so I think these 32 inseam ones are going to work fine
fuck yeah those look sick! you rock them well
@Big Thicc thanks man. Pretty happy with how they're going, another wash or two and a few wears and I reckon they'll be spot on
for sure, they look like theyre fitting great already. these are the 13mwz?
Yeah
fuck yeah. they look great
@Big Thicc these look great!
These look great @aplacetoburyyourself . These are shadow black in slim 13mwz? This is post wash I assume? If so how much did you size up in waist/length?
Curious because I want black and not much discussion if they shrink like the rigid indigo
These aren't rigid or raw and this is how they fit initially. I'll link you when I get a chance.
I bought some in black too. Got my tts and washed/dried it right away and it fits well.
Yours looks better on calf though!
I forgot to mention that these aren't slim fit. These are the original Cowboy Cut in regular fit. Slim fit would have been incredibly uncomfortable for me. I haven't even washed or soaked mine yet and they will probably never go through a dryer cycle. I usually hang dry all of my clothing.
Thanks. I got those too. Only bad thing is mine look a little too flared from the knee down compared to yours. I'm going to wash/dry on hot to try and fix
Black friday sale on amazon meant I picked up a pair of the slim fit to try as well. Will see how they go after a wash
keen to see how they turn out!
what’s the sizing for these ? are they shrink fit?
Seconding this! Should I buy the same size as what I wear in Wrangler Wranchers, or would my Levi’s STF size work?
refer to my conversation up above with homebrew, towards the top. should be all the info you guys need!
yes
Slim fit looked good on me, not comfortable though. I wear the 34 34 mostly. They're a little long so I cuff them, but works well and feel good. Next time I'll probably size down 1 or 2 in the waist
That's the 13mwz 34/34
Seeing as I own WAY too many pairs of wranglers, I figured I may as well help anyone looking to dip a toe in. I am 6’ 3”, 170lbs. True waist is 32” all sizes are 31 x 36 or 34 unless otherwise stated. Descriptions of which model is which are added to photos.
And a couple more
Hi, I'm new here. Hoping you guys can help me out. Just bought some rigid 13MWZ Wranglers. How much do you have to baby them washing and drying to avoid marbling? Planning to wash hot and dry hot like they say but don't want to immediately mess them up. Thanks!
pair of wranglers “loose straight” i found in a thrift store back in 2019. i thought they were just blueish gray until the hem split and it turns out they were actually completely indigo and just super faded. the waist is too big but they are comfy like sweatpants
